The guys over at Roma Music Group have been busy again, and this past week they issued two new EPs in their long-running TWINKLE TWINKLE LITTLE ROCK STAR collection of lullabies. Available now, Lullaby Versions of RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE and Lullaby Versions of RISE AGAINST each transform a half-dozen hits from their artist of inspiration into "lush instrumental" versions perfect for your littlest rockers' nursery. Check out the tracklistings, artwork and preview streams below, and if you dig 'em - download on iTunes, Amazon and most digital retailers.

I'm gonna hop in the DeLorean and take you back to an era well more than a decade ago at this point - an era where pop-punk reigned, with labels like Drive-Thru and Fearless cranking a steady output of Warped Tour-ready acts, and bands like NEW FOUND GLORY, BLINK-182, GOOD CHARLOTTE, SUM 41 and SIMPLE PLAN were topping the charts. Riding that wave were a ton of bands that never quite made the same impact, but on local and regional levels were carrying the torch high for melodic rock with anthemic, sing-along choruses. Here in Northern Illinois, I'd once crossed paths with a band called THE BRUCE CHI AFFAIR (I did a video for them), who later evolved into FINAL ROUND (who I also did a video for). FINAL ROUND was great at what they did, but like many bands, they hit a few snags with members both moving or even passing on (their late drummer D-Max even played with yours truly on an EP back in '04). Over the years, FINAL ROUND never really went away, but now they're officially back on the map with the release of IT ENDS WITH US BOTH RIGHT HERE, which hit iTunes, Amazon and Bandcamp this week. It's still hard to believe that ROCK BAND has been around for five years already. Are you still playing? I'm out of the loop and out of shape, but am really tempted to boot up the XBOX 360 for some pro drums action on ROCK BAND 3. Here's the latest news...

Harmonix today announced that tracks from The All-American Rejects, Mudvayne, and Rise Against are headed to the Rock Band™ Music Store of downloadable content for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and Wii.

Judging from the hit-count on my blog posting yesterday that featured a 22-second snippet of a new SOUNDGARDEN song slated for inclusion on THE AVENGERS Soundtrack, I'd say interest in both the film and the band are pretty high. Well, earlier today, Disney sent over the full tracklisting for AVENGERS ASSEMBLE: Music From and Inspired by The Motion Picture. Additionally, The Rock Father has learned that the aforementioned SOUNGARDEN cut Live to Rise will be featured over the end credits of the film.  Check out the full tracklisting and all the artists below.
