Shout! FactoryWhile fans of MY LITTLE PONY impatiently await the long-touted "Spring 2015" debut of MY LITTLE PONY FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC Season 5 on the Discovery Family Channel, I'm more excited for the coming of Spring in general, as the winter weather here at Rock Father HQ has already outlived it's welcome. The arrival of Spring plays an important role in the 1986 film, MY LITTLE PONY: THE MOVIE, which is being re-issued this month on a "30th Anniversary Edition" DVD thanks to the folks at Shout! Factory. The ponies have come a very long way in the three decades-plus since they first made their debut, and the latest evolution hit screens last year with the sequel to EQUESTRIA GIRLS, RAINBOW ROCKS. As we bookend the past and present while awaiting the near future, Shout! Factory and THE ROCK FATHER are teaming up to get two (2) lucky readers hooked up with copies of both films - MY LITTLE PONY: THE MOVIE on DVD and MY LITTLE PONY: EQUESTRIA GIRLS - RAINBOW ROCKS on Blu-ray Combo Pack! Ready to win?

Holiday 2014LITTLEST PET SHOP has had quite the renaissance over the past few years, the Kenner toy line of the 80s re-imagined by Hasbro, entertaining new generations of kids through a cross-platform approach led by the Hasbro Studios-produced TV series that first aired on the late Hub Network, and now runs weekdays on The Discovery Family Channel. We've long had some of the toys here at Rock Father HQ, complimented by the Shout! Factory DVD collections, and for Holiday 2014 there's what just may be the ultimate LPS toy - the LITTLEST PET SHOP Style Set, the pet shop itself, presented in an interlocking form that allows kids to add additional buildings to create their own city block. That said, LPS takes it's place in my 2014 Holiday Wish Guide.

Holiday Wish GuideReleased for the first-time-ever on Blu-ray this Fall in an 8-disc Complete Series box set, along with a 4-disc Complete Seasons One & Two DVD set (which I have) Pee-wee’s Playhouse is just as delightfully bizarre as you probably remember it from the first time around... perhaps even more so. Riding the retro wave, Pee-wee Herman and friends look better-than-ever, fully remastered from the original film elements in painstaking detail by the team at Shout! Factory. Re-watching the show as a parent nearly 30 years later (I watched it regularly when it made it's debut on CBS in 1986), it's interesting to see just how Paul Reubens managed to work kid-friendly, positive messages and even educational elements (Pee-wee ended up doing a guest shot on SESAME STREET) into the zany confines of the Playhouse - racking up numerous awards, including nearly two dozen EMMYS.

On October 28, fresh off it's theatrical run and airing on The Discovery Family Channel (formerly the Hub Network), Shout! Factory and Hasbro Studios will release MY LITTLE PONY EQUESTRIA GIRLS: RAINBOW ROCKS on Blu-ray and DVD. This new adventure will be available in a variety of configurations and retailer-exclusive editions (all listed below), with bonus features including the eight prequel shorts that originally debuted on YouTube.

In Equestria, they say that everypony loves Halloween. The same holds true at Rock Father HQ, where we not only love Halloween, but have a couple of certified MLP fans on our hands, eager to follow the adventures of the Mane Six wherever they may roam. In MY LITTLE PONY FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC: SPOOKTACULAR PONY TALES (out now from Shout! Factory Kids) Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash, Fluttershy, Rarity, Applejack and Pinkie Pie (Spike, too!) battle the forces of darkness (well, maybe not exactly) in six seasonally delightful episodes that go perfect with a crisp Fall breeze and some pumpkin-spiced sweets, landing firmly in 31 Days of Halloween here on THE ROCK FATHER.
