On December 23, 2015, ALVIN AND THE CHIPMUNKS are back in an all-new movie, THE ROAD CHIP. Growing up as a kid watching THE CHIPMUNKS cartoon as part of the NBC Saturday morning lineup (along with the SMURFS, MR. T, the SNORKS, and PUNKY BREWSTER), I have a real soft spot for the little guys (and their female counterparts, THE CHIPETTES). IDEAL Toys even made a series of action figures, along with the "On Tour Van" and "Curtain Call Theater" - and my sister and I had them, and they were awesome! Many concerts were performed with those little figures (I still remember the distinctive cloth outfits), and in some ways, that probably shaped who I am today. Check out the trailer for 20th Century Fox's latest CHIPMUNKS movie below, right here on THE ROCK FATHER Magazine...

When it comes to "family" entertainment, the 90s are sort of a lost decade for me. Growing up in the 80s and then working in the entertainment world in the 00's - the 90s were the decade where I was growing up, rocking out, and in the end - getting married. A ton of really popular stuff came out that I totally missed (lots of Nickelodeon/Disney Channel shows for sure), and one thing I totally would've been into had I been born a bit later is R.L. Stine's GOOSEBUMPS series. Being more than a little into monsters and such, seeing Jack Black jump into the role of an author with potential to unleash werewolves and evil snowmen into the real world is something that's pretty intriguing. Check out the trailer for SONY/Columbia Pictures GOOSEBUMPS below...

FANDANGO FAMILY DIGITAL NETWORKFrom the world of DESPICABLE ME comes MINIONS, a prequel tracing the origins of the devious, yet lovable little creatures in the years before Gru. Out July 10th via Universal Pictures/Illumination Entertainment, the MINIONS' adventure will take them on a journey to 1960s New York City and the Mod streets of London - and today the most revealing trailer for the film thus far has been released. MINIONS leads the charge among the Top Five Most Anticipated Family Films of the summer in a recent poll of Fandango Moviegoers, and is a film near the top of our own "must-see" list here at Rock Father HQ. In fact, I have something very rare in the MINIONS world right here in my own office... a one-of-a-kind sculpture from the design team at MEGA BLOKS, who recently began selling building kits based on the growing franchise. Check out the new trailer below...

I've been a little out of the loop these past couple of days (out of town for a wake/funeral), so there's a couple of important pop culture happenings that I'm belated in posting about, yet ones that need to be showcased here on THE ROCK FATHER. One such point? The debut of the full-length teaser of MARVEL's ANT-MAN - the latest entry into the ever-growing MARVEL Cinematic Universe, and one of my most-anticipated films of 2015. Check out Paul Rudd (who my wife points out "looks hot in this trailer") and Michael Douglas (who I'll point out is "a cinematic treasure") getting suited-up below...
