On April 4, FLEETWOOD MAC - Mick Fleetwood and John McVie, both original members since 1967, and Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks, who joined the band in 1975 - will celebrate the 35th Anniversary release of RUMOURS, by kicking off an extensive world tour. As part of the celebration, The Rock Father will get one lucky reader hooked up with a copy of the RUMOURS Expanded Edition.
FALL OUT BOY surprised many when they emerged from hibernation with a new single and video, along with a release date for a new album. On April 15/16, SAVE ROCK AND ROLL hits the streets, and today the band has revealed the cover art. Check it out below...
This is pretty interesting... yesterday (a Saturday), KMFDM posts a Facebook update that reads "Brand-new KMFDM video here." The video in question is for "I Heart Not," a track from their newly-released album, KUNST. On the YouTube page, the video is clearly-labeled "KMFDM - 'I Heart Not' Official Video." It's even watermarked with the relevant info (artist/label/album/director). Fans on the Facebook page start panning the video, and all-of-a-sudden the public statistics and comments on YouTube are deleted, then turned off. Four hours later, KMFDM posts another Facebook update with another new video along with the following text: "Another brand new KMFDM video, like the one posted earlier it has had no input from us, they were made uncalled for by people that are into our music. Much appreciated !!" Sure it is.
I've been meaning to post this for ages, but it's one of those examples of getting so buried in emails that it kept getting pushed down and lost... but it's a FREE DOWNLOAD from GEMINI SYNDROME, and I dig it. The band just-wrapped a tour with MUSHROOMHEAD and has some festival dates booked for the summer, but in the meantime, they'll be heading out with DEVICE for some dates in April. Stream "Pleasure and Pain" below, and be sure to snag the download as well.
With Pope Francis crowned at The Vatican today, it's just proper that the band GHOST... now known as GHOST B.C. in the U.S. ("for legal reasons") has released a new song entitled "Year Zero." It is by far, the grooviest Satanic Anthem celebrating the Glory and Majesty of "the ancient serpent deceiver" that I have ever heard. "Belial. Behemoth. Beelzebub. Asmodeus. Satanas. Lucifer!" The track comes as part of the now-failed attempt at electing Papa Emeritus II as Supreme Pontiff, with it having been unlocked on a special website launched to commemorate the occasion. Crank it up below!
On March 26, Comedy Central Records will release DRUNK TEXTS TO MYSELF, the debut comedy album from TREVER MOORE (a founding member of sketch troupe The Whitest Kids U’ Know). Even though the video has been out for a couple of weeks, it feels right to post "The Pope Rap (Modern Day Profit)" here today since that whole "Pope Francis" thing went down at The Vatican this afternoon.
