EatSmart Precision Tracker Digital Bathroom Scale
For the health-conscious parent (or parent like me that's trying to drop some pounds), the Precision Tracker Bathroom Scale from EatSmart Products really is a phenomenal piece of technology for the home. Already in use here at Rock Father HQ, this scale is light-years ahead of any other scale we've ever owned previously. The glass-topped unit is exceptionally sleek, reminiscent of an iPad or other tablet, yet it's low-profile rests firmly against your floor. The programmable touch-screen stores user profiles for up to 10 users and enables tracking of weight between sessions.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 (XBOX 360, PS3, Wii)
There's a reason I post those "Daddy Shooting Pixels" posts here on The Rock Father - sometimes Dad needs to fire up the XBOX 360 and blow off a little steam. My battlefield of choice tends to be Activision's CALL OF DUTY series, and while I was a little underhelmed by last years entry (Modern Warfare 3), this year brings CALL OF DUTY: BLACK OPS 2 - a step into the future (literally), as the action takes place largely in 2025. NOT FOR THE KIDS, this one is for grownups only!
Turbo Man "It's Turbo Time!" T-Shirt (from JINGLE ALL THE WAY)
When people ask me what my favorite Arnold Schwarzenegger film is, the answer is simple: the 1996 holiday classic, JINGLE ALL THE WAY. If you're like me, the perfect way to celebrate this cinematic masterpiece and seasonal treasure is to sport this t-shirt featuring the iconic "Turbo Man" in all of his glory. Want to stay even warmer? A hoodie is available as well.
For the better part of the past decade, horror fans in and around the Chicago area have been attending the annual 24-hour film festival known as THE MASSACRE each and every October. With the spooky Fall season close at hand (my favorite season of all), The Massacre will return once more, moving to a larger location - The Portage Theater (4050 N. Milwaukee Ave, Chicago, IL 60641) on October 20th. Presented by Movieside, as always, The Massacre (Get tix | RSVP on Facebook) will boast round-the-clock feature films, vintage trailers, vendors, special guests, a costume contest, zombie make-up station, a charity auction for Vital Bridges, and more. Having attended several of these myself, I heartily recommend checking it out. Full details below...
I've said it before, and I'll keep saying it again and again: Sometimes Daddy needs to blow some stuff up good, and on November 13th, I will likely be doing just that when CALL OF DUTY: BLACK OPS 2 arrives. Activision just hit The Rock Father with some new screens fresh from the in-progress Gamescom in Germany. Check 'em out below.
