It's a great time to be a kid... or a parent... with the wealth of fantastic transmedia entertainment properties available for families to experience and enjoy on-screen-and-off. One newer example is Disney Junior's THE LION GUARD, the continuation of the story started in THE LION KING back in 1994. In this new animated series, young Kion, the second cub of Simba and Nala, finds himself tasked with leading The Lion Guard - an elite team of animals that function as a team to protect The Pride Lands from all manner of threat. This week, the pilot film, THE LION GUARD: RETURN OF THE ROAR has come home on DVD (get it on Amazon), complete with a music video for Beau Black's "Here Comes The Lion Guard" from the series' original soundtrack...

Having already posted an overview of some of the new toys and games that have been released in support of THE LION GUARD, our friends at Just Play Toys sent us a small assortment of their new LION GUARD action figures, along with some Blind Bag figurines. What was inside the Blind Bags? Check out this Live Unboxing that we broadcast and captured via Periscope:

I have mixed feelings on the whole "blind" thing, as I don't want to own duplicates, but people are into it, so I'll go with that. The girls like the figures, and that's what counts... but when it comes to Just Play's new LION GUARD toys, it's the action figures that really win - and here we have Beshte's Boulder Catapult and Kion's Toppling Rock Wall, each of which are available at your favorite retailers right now. And, for those who want some major action, look for the big playset as well!

THE ROCK DAUGHTERS love THE LION GUARD

Dig these? Check out the Just Play website to see the entire collection, and to bring The Pride Lands home...
