As I type this, right now, at this very moment, my wife and our girls (The Rock Daughters™) are having a "girl's day out" with my mother-in-law and sister-in-law. They're at American Girl Place in Chicago for lunch today, so it's impeccable timing that Mattel just sent over the official details on the 2017 Girl of the Year doll from American Girl - Gabriela McBride. Gabby is described as "a true creative talent who uses the power of poetry to help her break down barriers and overcome a personal challenge with stuttering." See the full details on this great new doll from the official announcement below!

It's January 1st, 2016, and that means it's time to debut American Girl’s 2016 Girl of the Year, Lea Clark. Lea is described as "a talented photographer with a love for animals, who discovers a wide world of possibilities when she embarks on a faraway adventure to Brazil." As always, the Girl of the Year is only available for 12 months, and Lea’s collection includes the 18" Lea doll featuring long wavy hair and warm hazel eyes, plus several tropical-inspired outfits, accessories, and toys that reflect her Brazilian travels—including Lea’s Rainforest House with over 30 pieces and accessories. This summer, Lea will be the subject of an all-new, action-adventure film, arriving on DVD via Universal Studios Home Entertainment. Check out an assortment of photos and the full details on American Girl's Lea Clark launch below!

This past Friday night, I was invited to be one of a select group of Bloggers to take part in a first-of-its-kind event at American Girl Place in Chicago. It was a celebration - a baby shower of sorts - to announce American Girl's new arrival: The Brand-New World of Bitty Baby. On August 27, 2013, the newly-enhanced Bitty Baby line of 15-inch dolls, clothing, and accessories for girls ages 3+ will make it's public debut at American Girl stores, and online at AmericanGirl.com.
