"Still absorbing." Those were the first two words that I shared on Twitter upon exiting the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood back in April, having just experienced Marvel Studios' Avengers: Infinity War at the World Premiere. In my formal review, I would declare the film to be a "non-stop barrage of action that pushes the boundaries between Earth, space and the unknown." I desperately wanted to see it again, calling it "an experience that managed to excite and upset, captivate and frustrate, all while eliciting a range of emotional response from its audience that runs the gamut from celebration to sadness... often trying to find balance, much like that which Thanos seeks." Now, four months later, I've seen it again and have even greater appreciation for the massive undertaking of crafting the biggest movie of all time... right on top of what could claim that title next year - 2019's Avengers 4. With Infinity War now available on Digital and Blu-ray, there's a treasure trove of bonus features that will answer many questions about the production, while dropping subtle crumbs for what's yet to come from the Marvel Cinematic Universe...

It's awards season, and one of the most buzzed-about films is THREE BILLBOARDS OUTSIDE EBBING, MISSOURI. Now comes word that the film will come home this month, available for your digital collection on Movies Anywhere beginning Feb. 13; and on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD on Feb. 27. Award-winning actress Frances McDormand (Fargo) delivers a stunningly powerful performance in this darkly comic drama that has been hailed as one of the year’s best films. A murdered girl’s defiant mother (McDormand) boldly paints three local signs with a controversial message, igniting a furious battle with a volatile cop (Sam Rockwell) and the town’s revered chief of police (Woody Harrelson). When The Emoji Movie arrived in theaters this past summer, most mainstream critics weren't exactly kind to it. In fact, there was already some negative buzz swirling around it since it was first announced - and even I questioned just how, exactly, Sony Pictures was planning to execute a feature film based on the characters than live within our phones. Thing is, that's exactly what they did - with filmmaker Tony Leondis crafting a tale of a world that literally exists inside of our devices, connecting everyone. Emojis have been everywhere these past few years, and The Emoji Movie gives them purpose, because even those who openly detest the creatures who evolved from emoticons, now harbor them within their purses or pockets every single day. Thing is, this isn't a movie for grownups, but very much a tale for tech-obsessed kids, which is always something of a double-edged sword here in our house.

Lucasfilm's Star Wars Rebels is a unique thing for our family when it comes to the grand scheme of Star Wars storytelling. Despite countless spin-offs in every possible medium, Rebels stands right alongside the cinematic feature films in terms of both importance and enjoyment, and for our children I expect it will remain just as memorable for them as the Original Trilogy has been for all of us. With Season Four set to debut on Disney XD this fall, the just-released Star Wars Rebels - Complete Season Three Blu-ray set is the perfect way to re-live the latest run before the series returns for its final season.

When DIE HARD hit theaters in the summer of 1988, no one would've expected that the film would become a perennial favorite... at Christmastime. Released in July, but with the action taking place on Christmas Eve, DIE HARD became a cultural phenomenon that launched a franchise, turned Bruce Willis into an action hero, and brought some boom to the holiday season. The Christmas vibe was back when DIE HARD 2 arrived in 1990, and while the next three installments avoided seasonality, those first two movies have forever been required holiday viewing for me (and many others). For 2015, and released in the same week that it was revealed that Len Wiseman would be helming a prequel entitled DIE HARD: YEAR ONE, the first five films in the DIE HARD franchise have been re-issued on Blu-ray and Digital HD in an ultimate edition - NAKATOMI PLAZA: DIE HARD COLLECTION. This exciting new set is a featured item in my 2015 Holiday Wish Guide!

Disneynature's documentary films have become somewhat of an annual tradition over the past few years, a new one arriving each Spring, just in-time for Earth Day. Following the successes of AFRICAN CATS, CHIMPANZEE and BEARS (review here) comes this year's entry, MONKEY KINGDOM. Beautifully-shot (as expected) under the direction of Disneynature series vets Alastair Fothergill and Mark Linfield, 30 ROCK's Tina Fey provides the narration for this time around.
