I'm usually not one to knock the reboot craze... after all, I did title my 2004 Saturday Action Theatre EP "Remakes and Sequels." Nostalgia is powerful, and I've watched and enjoyed many revamped favorites of yesteryear, but when CBS unleashed their first-look at their updated version of MAGNUM P.I. -  honestly, I fully expected to hate it. I was really just bummed when I found out that Thomas Magnum wouldn't be rockin' the iconic Tom Selleck mustache, but having seen the extended preview, I'm ready to tune in this fall. There's some changes in things, but the Ferrari is back (several, actually - though they seem to like wrecking them) as is the colorful Island Hopper helicopter and that signature theme song. Check this out...

Things have really changed over the course of the past few years. It was 2014 when I posted about the 35th Anniversary of The Dukes of Hazzard premiering on CBS. A year later, amid outcry due to events in South Carolina, Warner Bros. Consumer Products found itself under fire for licensing replicas of the show's most iconic "character" - the 1969 Dodge Charger known as "The General Lee." Now deemed "politically incorrect" due to the "stars and bars" atop its roof, licensing of the car with its signature feature - a Confederate flag - ceased, and soon after, even re-runs of the series on CMT came to an end. Regardless of what might be deemed (in)appropriate by some today, you cannot erase history, nor can you offer "alternate facts" to what came before.  It was January 26, 1979 that audiences first took a trip to Hazzard County, making today the 38th Anniversary of the series. CBS' SUPERGIRL gets a new trailer...

On Monday, October 26 at 8:30/7:30c, CBS' SUPERGIRL will fly into living rooms as the latest television series ripped from the pages of DC Comics. After a stellar extended first-look a few months back, a new preview has hit the web and can be viewed below. This is one of my personal "most-anticipated" new series' for 2015....

SUPERGIRLThere's been a lot of buzz about SUPERGIRL of late, and today comes the first-look at six minutes from the new series based on the stories from DC Comics. Airing this Fall on CBS, SUPERGIRL stars Melissa Benoist as the title character - Kara Zor-El, the 24-year-old Kryptonian cousin of Kal-El... aka SUPERMAN. I'm totally digging this, and if I could set the DVR now, I would. Check out the first look preview below.

January 26, 1979. It was 35 years ago tonight that THE DUKES OF HAZZARD made it's debut on CBS, introducing the world to the Duke boys, The General Lee, and a full cast of iconic characters straight outta Hazzard County, Georgia. Moonshine runners had never been quite as fun, and for a kid like me, the show (which ran until 1985) became a part of my weekly routine. I even had a DUKES birthday party for my fifth (see video of that and my old DUKES Power Cycle here), and still miss those old MEGO figures with the plastic General Lee that they rode in. Let's show some respect with the classic, Season One intro below...
