Quantcast

I was Darth Vader for at least three Halloweens in the early 1980s. I've also owned many action figures based on the Dark Lord of the Sith, and currently rock a pair of the STAR WARS x VANS Darth Vader slip-on skate shoes on a pretty regular basis. Bottom line: I can certainly appreciate kids that want to be Darth Vader. The 2013 DARTH VADER VOICE CHANGER HELMET is today's entry into Hasbro's Force Friday Countdown Calendar as we move toward the September 4th release of toys from J.J. Abrams' STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS.

Boss Nass. I didn't mind him much right out of the gate, but as the years have gone by, he's made me think less of the Gungans - Naboo's underwater-dwelling creatures that gave us beloved characters such as Jar-Jar Binks. It would not be pleasant to have to talk to this sloppy spitter, that's for sure! The 1999 Boss Nass action figure from THE PHANTOM MENACE collection is today's entry into Hasbro's Force Friday Countdown Calendar as we move toward the September 4th release of toys from J.J. Abrams' STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS.

Mighty Muggs were Hasbro's foray into the world of "super deformed" vinyl figures - the same realm that has seen Funko excel with their Pop! Vinyl line. STAR WARS Mighty Muggs Han Solo (Hoth gear) and Darth Vader (Unmasked) are today's entry into Hasbro's Force Friday Countdown Calendar as we move toward the September 4th release of toys from J.J. Abrams' STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS.

Sand People - Tusken Raiders. Back in 1977, it was Old Ben Kenobi - Obi-Wan, who first told us that they "always ride single file to hide their numbers." They didn't tear up that Sandcrawler, nor did they torch the Lars Homestead - but we are meant to think that they did. The 2006 "Vintage Saga Collection" Sand People are today's entry into Hasbro's Force Friday Countdown Calendar as we move toward the September 4th release of toys from J.J. Abrams' STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS. I didn't have one, so I put a real vintage Sandperson in my picture.

At this point I'm almost ashamed to admit that we've barely scratched the surface of THE CLONE WARS, but with how certain characters have made their way into Disney XD's excellent STAR WARS REBELS, I'm eager to learn more about CT-7567 aka Captain Rex of the 501st Legion. Unlike most other Clone Troopers, somehow Rex survived - and perhaps he didn't carry out the infamous Order 66?? THE CLONE WARS Captain Rex action figures is today's entry into Hasbro's Force Friday Countdown Calendar as we move toward the September 4th release of toys from J.J. Abrams' STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS.

As revealed earlier today, Toys "R" Us has announced a massive, Global initiative surrounding the September 4 #ForceFriday launch of toys from STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS. Part of that initiative includes “Destination: Star Wars – The Experience” - a special exhibition running Wednesday, August 26 – Monday, September 7 at the flagship Times Square Toys "R" Us in New York City. It will feature a special exhibition featuring prototypes, originals and early editions of some of the best-known STAR WARS toys in the world, curated by Rancho Obi-Wan, Inc., a non-profit museum that houses the Guinness World Record-certified largest collection of STAR WARS memorabilia.
