It's been a big summer for Ford: not only did the company reach its emissions goal eight years early in June, it also partnered with Baidu, a Chinese internet company, in order to make your smart car even smarter.
In Ford Motor Company's annual sustainability report, the company revealed that it has hit its lowered emissions goal eight years earlier than expected. Set in 2010, the automotive supplier wanted to reduce its emissions by 30% by 2025. This goal was reached last month when Ford revealed they have lowered CO2 emissions by 3.4 million metric tons.
Some years back, Michael Bolton found himself drawn to Detroit while researching for his 2013 album "Ain't No Mountain High Enough: A Tribute to Hitsville USA." Beyond the music of Motown, Bolton realized that there was so much more to explore about Detroit’s past, present and future. Now comes his new documentary, American Dream: Detroit, a film that celebrates the golden age of the Motor City - featuring natives such as Francis Ford Coppola, Jerry Bruckheimer, Aretha Franklin, Smokey Robinson and Alice Cooper. It's an exploration of a city in turnaround, pulling back the curtain on the vision of a new Detroit being built by young visionaries and entrepreneurial moguls alike. On May 15th, Fathom Events will bring it to theaters for one night only - see the trailer below!
Tony Stewart has long been known as “Smoke” on the track - a nickname earned for his ability to smoke the competition and burn up a set of tires when celebrating a victor. Now that name is coming to life as a car - specifically a one-of-a-kind pony. Stewart has teamed with Smithfield and car builder RTR Vehicles and the man behind it, drifting champion Vaughn Gittin Jr., to build a one-of-a-kind 2018 Ford Mustang RTR Spec 3 that will be given away to one lucky fan. This 700-horsepower beast finds Ford’s 5.0-liter V-8 engine receiving 12 pounds of boost from Ford Performance’s new supercharger. In the end, Tony Stewart’s Smithfield Smoke Machine will have the sound and feel of the No. 10 Smithfield Ford Fusion Stewart-Haas Racing campaigns in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series with driver Aric Almirola.
It's a fascinating story, and one that's baffled many throughout the years - what happened to the two original Ford Mustangs GT Fastbacks used in the filming of Steve McQueen's 1968 film, BULLITT? Many thought that at least one of them met with the crusher, and the fate of the other was more murky, with many claiming to have had it over the years. But in 2017, the truth was revealed that both still existed, but the most iconic of the two was the hero car, and now it's back. To help launch the 2019 Ford Mustang BULLITT, the original car was brought together with it's modern counterpart, but there's a hell of a story about to be told...
Two years ago, straight from the floor of the 2015 Chicago Auto Show, I served-up a shot of the 2017 Ford GT supercar that quickly became one of my most-liked Instagram posts at the time. Fast-forward two years, and here we are gearing up for #CAS17, and the folks at Ford have revealed their plans for this year's show. Yes, the GT will be there, but this year looks to have a focus on function, and they're leading things off with the first public debut of their all-new Expedition. Check out some highlights of what's to come...
When it comes to R/C vehicles, Nikko's been in the game for a long time... since 1958, landing on kids' wish lists (including my own) for decades. One of their newest offerings to come since becoming a unit of Toy State is the "Elite Trucks"line, and with their all-new Ford F-150 SVT Raptor hitting the streets for the holidays, we were excited to receive one for review here in the Toy Testing Facility at Rock Father HQ.
