It's time for a Guardians Inferno. As Marvel Studios' GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY VOL. 2 heads home this month, today comes the music video for the 1970's MECO-inspired "Guardians Inferno," performed by The Sneepers featuring David Hasselhoff. Quite simply, it's the the finest 1970's Disco music video to not have been shot in the 1970's, and believe it or not - I've seen quite a few. Check out the glorious action (which features much of the Guardians cast, alongside filmmaker James Gunn and Stan Lee) below!

Earlier this evening, I had four little girls (The Rock Daughters™ + 2 friends) huddled around a computer in my office to see the new teaser trailer for MARVEL Studios' Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. There's so much to love in this, I'll let the video mostly speak for itself, but I do have to mention that although they're still calling him "Baby Groot," Toddler Groot is going to be the toy that kids want next year.  Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 is once again directed by James Gunn, and will hit theater screens on May 5, 2017. From The Walt Disney Company and its affiliated studios alone, next year is gonna be huge...

In MARVEL's GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY, one of the most important elements wasn't what was being seen on-screen, but what was being heard. Chris Pratt's Star-Lord was constantly rockin' his "Awesome Mix Vol. 1" on cassette tape, and as such, new audiences were exposed to some songs that they might not've been familiar with - particularly, kids. When Disney XD's new GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY animated series makes its debut during a special one-hour premiere on September 26 (back-to-back episodes at 9:30 PM ET), audiences will discover that the musical vibe of James Gunn's cinematic world has been kept intact for its cartoon companion. MARVEL has announced an October 16 release date for "Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Mix Vol. 1 (Music from the Animated Television Series)" and the tracklisting is good.

We're pretty big fans of the "Character Cars" that Mattel has been releasing as part of their Hot Wheels line for the past few years, and while we're not quite "completists," there is one pairing that was quite hard to resist. When a car inspired by GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY's Rocket Raccoon hit the streets (featured here back in January), it didn't even cross my mind that the big blastin' Rocket would eventually gain a true companion vehicle based upon his tall friend Groot. While the idea of a Groot car was certainly a given, making it into an actual, functional companion piece is what the designers at Mattel pulled off, and the results are fantastic. Hitting the pegs of your favorite toy emporium this month is the Hot Wheels Groot, and he's joined our fleet here at Rock Father HQ. Take a look!

You know you want it... a life-sized Rocket Raccoon figure - one perfectly-detailed and ready for adventure. You could grab your Nerf Star-Lord Quad Blaster (like the one I have in my garage), your Funko Pop! Vinyl Baby Groot (like the one the girls have here), and pop-in your own personal copy of AWESOME MIX VOL. 1 (like I have on iTunes) and prepare to fight evil wherever it might be! Right? Well, since NECA just made a slightly-larger-than-life-sized Rocket Raccoon... and since it's already pre-sold out at Entertainment Earth, I'd say it looks like more than a few people are thinking the same thing. I need one of these in my office.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY - #OwnTheGalaxy

The MARVEL Cinematic Universe is ever-expanding, and if one thing made solid the fact that audiences are constantly craving more, it's the intergalactic success brought forth by Peter "Star-Lord" Quill, Gamora, Rocket Raccoon, Groot and Drax, collectively known as the GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY. This little-known comic blasted onto screens in August, and since then has pulled in a hefty $771,815,000 globally as of this writing. With the Holiday Season upon us, kids and grownups alike are ready re-live the adventures of the Milano crew again and again, and this week that becomes possible with the release of GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY (GOTG) on Blu-ray and DVD, available at Walmart. But the adventure doesn't stop with the movie, it begins there! As my kids know, any day is perfect to pop on the Awesome Mix Vol. 1 (ZinePak Edition) and have an adventure with our Guardians figures and vehicles.
