For the past few years, DreamWorks Animation has been quietly growing an empire on the television front, delivering an incredible amount of original content to Netflix. Thus far, much of that content has been in the film-to-television realm, adapting the characters from their feature films into episodic series, and the next one to hit the scene is Trolls. Following the massive success of the recent film and just-released Holiday Special, Trolls: The Beat Goes On! will come to Netflix on January 19, 2018 with season one streaming in its entirety. Check out the official trailer below, along with some early details on a few new series coming next year, including a pair based on Boss Baby and Captain Underpants!
Earlier this month, I attended a media event at DreamWorks Animation in Glendale, California, during which I was able to get a very early look at some as-of-then-unannounced new series. One such title that was not included in the 2018 sneak-preview is a big one, and one that caught a lot of folks off-guard when the official announcement arrived today. She-Ra: Princess of Power is coming back, and she'll be toplining a new original series that's headed to Netflix!

DreamWorks' Voltron: Legendary Defender has been a massive hit for Netflix, and with it came some pretty fun toys as well. With the new generation digging deep into the history and lore of Voltron, a hand-picked collection of episodes were culled from the original series and released on Netflix as Voltron '84, and that just threw the doors wide-open for a new collection of toys. Beginning in January 18, the Voltron '84 Legendary Lion Assortment will be available at major retailers nationwide, allowing kids (and big kids) the opportunity to unlock over 60 sounds from the classic series by combining all 5 Legendary Lions into a Mighty 16" version of Voltron! My love of Playmobil runs deep - a toy line that I didn't personally have as a child, but one that I've long-admired as among the best toy brands in history. In the course of more than four decades of success, one thing Playmobil never really did until recently is enter the world of pop culture licensing. Launching into those waters among their hit Ghostbusters collection is one based on the world of DreamWorks DRAGONS - the hit Netflix Original Series spawned from the popular How to Train Your Dragon films. An Official Selection in my 2017 Holiday Wish Guide™, Playmobil DreamWorks DRAGONS Hiccup and Toothless brings the famous duo together in a classic style!
Halloween is almost here, and for 2017 my friends at DreamWorks Animation have served-up a fresh batch of free printable activities from some of their kid-favorite Netflix Original Series. There's printable pumpkin stencils for Spirit Riding Free and DinoTrux, and from Voltron: Legendary Defender there's patterns for creating masks, a sword, and The Cow of Voltron!
