Sometimes I think that I could easily just run a full-blown Star Wars fan site, as there's so much news happening right now. These past few years have been exciting times to be a Star Wars fan, and while some very vocal folks in the online world have found recent offerings divisive, there's unlimited potential for stories yet to be told on-screen that can all exist within "a galaxy far, far away." Today it was announced that "a new series of films" is being developed by Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. This new series will be separate from the episodic "Skywalker Saga," and from Rian Johnson's recently-announced new trilogy.
It's late as I sit here in the Pacific Northwest - reporting in from a hotel room near Seattle tonight as I catch up on a few things that I can't miss talking about. The big news of the day comes from Disney, who have announced a NEW Star Wars Trilogy from Lucasfilm, and it's coming from the filmmaker behind the latest installment, STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI. "Obviously I hope you like The Last Jedi. But man, now I REALLY hope you like The Last Jedi." tweeted writer/director Rian Johnson earlier tonight, responding to the news that he will return to a galaxy far, far away to oversee a new Trilogy set outside the timeline of the Skywalker Saga.
