It's a sad thing that we now have to provide teachers with instructional tools on how to react to events that were at one time unthinkable. But here we are, and Brave Dream Media, LLC, in association with the Oklahoma Film + Music Office (OF+MO) have announced the start of production a new educational video series Safe Spaces: Schools. The short film series will be used to educate and train teachers across the country on how to react in situations involving bomb threats, active shooters, kidnappings, hostages and tornadoes. Scripts and procedures used have been crafted by former FBI, Secret Service and ATF agents, utilizing advanced and accurate training techniques deemed most effective by law-enforcement agencies.

This Incredibles 2 special feature is presented in collaboration between Clorox and The Rock Father™ #CloroxIncrediblyClean

Last summer, I found myself in Anaheim, California during one of the incredible adventures that I sometimes get to have as part of my work. Since our first daughter was born in 2009, I have largely been an “at-home dad,” shifting many of my powers toward domestic duties while my wife maintains a career outside the home. There are occasions, however, where I spring into action for a special mission, usually hopping on a plane and leaving our Third Coast home en route to the East or West Coast (mostly West). For the D23 Expo in Anaheim, I was working with Disney and wound up there in the room when a select audience got to see the very first footage from Disney•Pixar’s The Incredibles 2. Later, I called my wife in Illinois and told her that what I saw was like watching our lives unfold on-screen… maybe sans the laser vision, but definitely the messes. Oh yes, those incredible messes!

This Thor: Ragnarok special feature is presented in collaboration between The Rock Father™, Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment and Life of Dad.

As Bob Dylan famously sung, “The Times They Are a-Changin’” - and those words, recorded in 1963, are just as relevant now as they were back then. The early 60’s were tumultuous times, and in many ways the uncertainty of that era is reflected in today’s society as the waves of right and wrong continue to clash, reshaping our world in the process. It was from that same era that a powerful warrior came forth - The Mighty Thor first wielding his mythical hammer, Mjolnir in the pages of Marvel Comics’ Journey Into Mystery in the fall of 1962. It might not be immediately recognizable on the surface, but the tales of Thor have much to do with an underlying theme of family, and a parent’s desire to raise their children to be warriors. Some warriors are born, while others are forged and a true “warrior” comes in many faces. Just as Odin wanted only the best for his children, I will do my best to ensure the same for mine...

This #RockFathersDay™ feature is brought to you in collaboration between The Rock Father™, Life of Dad and Pampers. #ThanksBaby!

Eight years ago this August... and again five years ago this past Thursday, babies were born, and so was "The Rock Father™" - It's a tale that I've told before, but when Father's Day rolls around, it's one that's always worth telling again...

My wife and I were driving south on I-94 outside of Chicago in November of 2008. We were on our way to a Thanksgiving gathering that was happening pre-Thanksgiving, and she turned to me very quickly and said "I think you knocked me up." That was the moment that I first realized that I'd soon become a Father for the very first time. The weight of things didn't really hit me, but I remember smiling ear-to-ear and just thinking, "OK - let's do this!" She was afraid that I'd be unhappy about the news - especially because just the night before... I'd been on the phone with my Mom, who was shopping at Target with a couple of my step-brother's kids - and as they were acting out and being naughty - I made some quip about "this is why we don't have kids!" Funny thing is, I've always been good with kids - but there's also definitely an "old me" versus the man who I've become. On August 7, 2009 - our 10th Wedding Anniversary - our first daughter, Adalyn, was born. We liked the experience so much that we prepped a sequel, and were back at the hospital four years ago today - June 15, 2012, for the release of our second "Rock Daughter," baby Finley! The personal change that I've experienced as a father is undeniable, and both I and my wife have our girls to thank for it.

Presented in collaboration between The Rock Father, Boudreaux’s Butt Paste® and Life of Dad

Let’s talk about butts. I don’t talk about butts too much here on THE ROCK FATHER Magazine, but being “The Rock Father” and all, I do know a thing or two about butts. Soft butts, firm butts, there’s all kinds of butts, but as a dad with two young daughters, I can remember a time when it was all about those baby butts. In a perfect world, they’re soft and smooth, but we all know that irritation is a big time problem, and I remember those sad cries when diaper rash would rear (no pun intended) its ugly redness, making those little butts painful to touch. I tried many products to help those butts, and it wasn’t until I came across Maximum Strength Boudreaux’s Butt Paste® that I was truly #KickingRash! In fact, even though the girls are well beyond diapers, I still keep some Butt Paste on hand since you never know when it might come in handy. So… with all that rash-kickin’ power, what else could it help clear up?

A baby food company wants you to get it on. Indeed, more of that can equal more mouths to feed in the long run, so it makes good business sense to encourage said activity. This is something I know well, as I've often joked to my wife that my entire current career path is completely based on the fact that we got it on at some point back in 2008, the end result being the birth of our first daughter in 2009, and thus, my being dubbed "The Rock Father." This site... these words... they wouldn't exist had it not been for my prowess, probably on a couch or something. Turns out, that's not completely the point of Plum Organics' Do Your Part(ner) campaign. Check this out...
