Two things I love: guitars and pizza. Apparently, Zakk Wylde also feels the same way, because if this new video is to be believed, his new line of guitars from Wylde Audio are, in fact, forged from the fires of his mighty Pizza Oven O'Doom. If you've ever wondered where guitars come from - specifically, where Zakk's Wylde Audio guitars come from, check out this helpful video that details the magical building process, and the power of Tree

Cooking-Up Memories with Pampered Chef Kids...

This Rock Father Kitchen feature has been brought to you in partnership with Pampered Chef

As we close the book on 2016 and enter 2017, now is the perfect time to make a renewed commitment to cooking at home. Personally, I always avoid saying that anything is a "resolution," but I do like taking stock of things and refocusing for each new year. Eating at home is important, and like so many, we do stray the path, but always come back to teaching our children the joy and importance of making their own meals (and memories). The Kids' Cooking Set by Pampered Chef is a new addition to our kitchen, and one that embraces kids' seemingly natural love of two things: pizza and cookies.

It's #NationalCheeseLoversDay, and had I known that in advance, I would've planned more accordingly. My friend Charles (you know him as "Chuck") runs a national chain of pizza and fun emporiums, and to celebrate the day, he's got his staff out on the streets of New York City to let passers-by do a blind taste test of some new pizzas on the menu of an un-branded food truck. Check out the reaction of these non-actors when they find out that they're sampling new offerings from Chuck E. Cheeses!

FREE BIRDS - The Rock Father Review

In the interest of full-disclosure, it's my duty to inform you that I received my passes to check out FREE BIRDS from my friends over at CHUCK E. CHEESE'S. While they have a marketing partnership with Relativity Media (the studio behind the film), you really can't blame Chuck and the gang for how their product placement actually appeared in the final film. In fact, while I've seen many jump to discussing some vast pizza conspiracy - after all, this is a movie about time-travelling turkeys seeking to have turkey replaced with pizza on the Thanksgiving menu - I have a feeling that Relativity was actively seeking a pizza partner, and when they locked one in, it was those logos that got slapped upon a few empty boxes - creating what's actually an interesting inaccuracy, but one that's pretty much irrelevant in the grand scheme of things. It's a movie about turkeys... for kids, and the kids that we took sure seemed to enjoy it.

"Why Can't I Get My Oldest Daughter to Eat Pizza?" This is a question that haunts and baffles me as a parent. I've long held that Pizza is the perfect food - a dish that can include all the possible food groups in one, tasty, disc. I can't get Addie to try it, and that saddens me. I mean, she wants to go to Chuck E. Cheese's, but won't touch the pizza. Regardless, The Rock Father is a Pizza Snob... or maybe a Pizza Gangster. Not quite like Pizza the Hutt in Mel Brooks' SPACEBALLS, but I know what I like. It's probably partially due to my Chicago-area upbringing, but I'm pretty discriminating in my pizza preferences, and that means discounting even some of Chicago's "famous" places as being overrated and not that good. I take the battle to the frozen food aisle as well.
