I get pulled in by a great biopic, love films rooted in musical history and particularly enjoy those set in the 70s and 80s. Put all of those things together and you've set the stage for the long-awaited Queen biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody. Today, 20th Century Fox unleashed the first teaser trailer for the film which stars Rami Malek, Lucy Boynton, Gwilym Lee, Ben Hardy, Joseph Mazzello, Aiden Gillen, Tom Hollander, and Mike Myers. Crank it up and watch it below!
The DC Extended Universe is growing by a massive amount in 2016, and what follows the March release of Zack Snyder's BATMAN v SUPERMAN: DAWN OF JUSTICE is the August release of David Ayer's SUICIDE SQUAD. The villain team-up might come as a surprise to casual fans familiar with The Joker, but not the rest of the 'Squad, but tonight's official trailer debut should do wonders in introducing the concept to the world at large. Quite simply, it rocks, and the fact that QUEEN's "Bohemian Rhapsody" serves as the soundtrack doesn't hurt. Probably the finest use since Wayne and Garth...
They've been lullabied a time or two in the past, but QUEEN has just gotten a fresh batch of lullabies courtesy of Twinkle Twinkle Little Rock Star. The popular lullaby line from the Roma Music Group just hit The Rock Father with full details on this new release, which hit iTunes today. Featuring a dozen classics made famous by Freddie Mercury, Brian May, Roger Taylor, and John Deacon, Lullaby Versions of Queen can be purchased via this link, with the full tracklisting and cover art available below.
I tried watching this earlier and couldn't. Too many people watching the mighty rock that the video was crashed. But now it's after 10 and I was just reminded of it via Dirge Within. Check out this video in which another Rock Father breaks out the jams on a WAYNE'S WORLD style rendition of the QUEEN classic, ''Bohemian Rhapsody.'' If you don't enjoy this, you are made of tin and devoid of a heart. How many times do you think this was practiced?
It's only Tuesday, yet still a fair amount of music news has been hitting my inbox here at Rock Father HQ. While I can't say anything has been completely mind-blowing, there's enough here for an early-edition of The Random Rock N' More, the column where I fire off quick one-line updates on a bunch of artists. If you want to dig deeper, a link is provided. As always, this hits on all areas of 'rock' from indie and folk to black metal and grindcore - "Music for Grown-ups" that wouldn't be featured on the homepage of The Rock Father™ site. Everything is fair game. Here's your Random Rock for Tuesday, April 10, 2012.
THIS CONTEST IS CLOSED. WINNERS HAVE BEEN NOTIFIED VIA EMAIL. 4/15/2012
