This special feature is presented in collaboration between The Rock Father™ and Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment

It was just over six years ago that I first published Teaching The Force The Rock Father™ Way. At the time, I was discussing how I'd initially shared with our only daughter the original Star Wars films. Six years and nearly 6,000 articles later, times have changed greatly. My wife and I are now raising two daughters who are well-versed in the ways of the Force, something I've written about at length both here and in my column over at The Toy Insider. To put things in perspective of just how greatly life has evolved, when I published that entry back in 2012, we thought that Star Wars was done. Instead, Lucasfilm was sold to The Walt Disney Company just eight months later and a new era of Star Wars was ready to begin! In the years since, there has been more Star Wars storytelling than we ever experienced the first time around. Disney XD's Star Wars Rebels (2014-2018), Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015), Rogue One: A Star Wars Story (2016), Forces of Destiny (2017-), Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017) and now we're looking ahead to Solo: A Star Wars Story (2018), the Untitled Episode IX (2019), a new series of films from David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, a new Trilogy from Rian Johnson and a live-action television series from Jon Favreau.  With much to look forward to, we're still in "Last Jedi mode" around here, and the recent in-home release for Star Wars: The Last Jedi has added fuel to the fire.

At SXSW earlier this month, Rian Johnson mentioned that a special "score-only" edition of Star Wars: The Last Jedi was on the way. This weekend it did arrive, hitting as a digital-exclusive via the Movies Anywhere service, and it's only available for a limited time. Playing like a silent film, this presents a unique way to experience the latest chapter of the Star Wars Saga, with John Williams' score taking center stage. To unlock the score-only version of the film, simply sign-up for Movies Anywhere and link your digital retailer account where you purchased your digital copy. They haven't said when this limited time window will expire, but Star Wars: The Last Jedi, is now available on digital and arrives on Blu-ray & 4K on Tuesday, March 27th. Check out a teaser for the score-only version below!

A New STAR WARS Trilogy is Taking Shape...

It's late as I sit here in the Pacific Northwest - reporting in from a hotel room near Seattle tonight as I catch up on a few things that I can't miss talking about. The big news of the day comes from Disney, who have announced a NEW Star Wars Trilogy from Lucasfilm, and it's coming from the filmmaker behind the latest installment, STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI. "Obviously I hope you like The Last Jedi. But man, now I REALLY hope you like The Last Jedi." tweeted writer/director Rian Johnson earlier tonight, responding to the news that he will return to a galaxy far, far away to oversee a new Trilogy set outside the timeline of the Skywalker Saga.

If you wanted some good news to kick-off the week, I'm here to give you some. After months of speculation (Forces of Destiny was kicked around the rumor mill quite a bit), Rian Johnson's forthcoming Star Wars: Episode VIII has its official title -- STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI. Along with the announcement comes the teaser poster and title treatment, and it's interesting to note the red-and-black color scheme that recalls 1983's Return of the Jedi. Take a look...

Last December, I had the honor of being asked to be one of 25 writers & bloggers chosen by Disney/Lucasfilm, and flown into Los Angeles to work the Global Press Event for STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS. As my coverage wrapped, things immediately began to shift into ROGUE ONE (out this December, more on that shortly), but with the thought that something bigger was looming on the horizon... STAR WARS: EPISODE VIII. While news of its filming slipped out on an investor call last week, today things are truly official... EPISODE VIII is in-production! Check out the announcement below, and stay tuned for more news from a galaxy far, far away...
