It was about a year and a half ago when Hasbro laid out their public plans to build a "cross-property interconnected onscreen universe featuring the brands G.I. JoeMicronautsVisionariesM.A.S.K. (Mobile Armored Strike Kommand) and ROM." In the comic world, IDW has already brought this to life with REVOLUTION, a crossover comic that also throws TRANSFORMERS into the mix, and at this year's San Diego Comic-Con, fans will be able to purchase the first toys based on the series in a massive "Mega-Set." This is right up my alley...

If you've read my "Coffee & Rock" features here on THE ROCK FATHER™ Magazine, you already know that I do enjoy "a damn fine cup of coffee" on occasion... just like FBI Special Agent Dale Bartholomew Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan). With TWIN PEAKS' resident coffee aficionado back on the scene for a new limited series on Showtime, my friends at Entertainment Earth are bringing the character to life as the TWIN PEAKS Agent Cooper Bobble Head – Convention Exclusive, and they've teamed-up with yours truly to debut it! This new figure will make it's debut at San Diego Comic-Con on July 20, 2017 in the Entertainment Earth booth (#2343)! Check out the full details below!

When I think of the toys of my childhood, there's a few that have pretty legendary status. There was a time when some of the best playsets were made of little more than cardboard, and because of that, not many of them survived. One such playset was one of my favorites - the G.I. Joe Cobra Missle Command Headquarters. Originally offered as a Sears exclusive back in 1982, this was one of the first G.I. Joe playsets that I had, and I played with it until it fell apart. While I still have the figures that came with it, the set is a memory (I might have some Super 8mm film of it), but now it's all coming back. Next month, Hasbro will issue a reproduction of that playset as an SDCC exclusive, complete with modern figures. Check this out...

When it comes to Star Trek, I've always been partial to Jean-Luc Picard and the crew of the Enterprise on Star Trek: The Next Generation. 2017 marks the 30th Anniversary of that series, but you don't have to travel to the 24th century to get your own Galaxy-class, fifth Federation starship! Thanks to Bif Bang Pow!, you can own the U.S.S. Enterprise NCC-1701-D, available at San Diego Comic-Con International as an all-new Monitor Mate™ - and I've got your first-look courtesy of Entertainment Earth!

It's that time of year again - the time when all the toymakers start rolling out the news on their SDCC Exclusives - the sought-after collectibles that will only be offered at San Diego Comic-Con International this July. Since I don't attend SDCC (I've long-said that I'll avoid it until I have a creative project to promote again... like one of my own comic or film endeavors), I sorta look at these as a bit of "window shopping" from afar. The first reveal here at Rock Father HQ comes from my friends at Hasbro, with a 12" Daredevil Figure from their MARVEL Legends collection. The SDCC Exclusive features impressive detailing, 30 points of articulation, premium packaging with original artwork by Marvel’s Chief Creative Officer, Joe Quesada. While word is that fans at San Diego Comic-Con just got their first look at GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY Vol. 2, I'm told we won't be seeing that footage online just yet. Those who are eager for something from GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY can check out the video below, in which Joe Rohde of Disney Imagineering details plans for Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: BREAKOUT!, a new immersive experience coming to Disney's California Adventure theme park in 2017. Aside from that, we've got a look at the new logos and cast announcements for some upcoming entries into the MARVEL Cinematic Universe, including GOTG2, BLACK PANTHER (Starring Chadwick Boseman, Michael B. Jordan, Lupita Nyong’o, Danai Gurira), THOR: RAGNAROK and CAPTAIN MARVEL (Brie Larson as Captain Marvel/Carol Danvers), in addition to a behind-the-scenes featurette on Black Panther from the upcoming CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR in-home release. Check it out...
