This year's Comic-Con International is about to go down in San Diego next week (July 23-27), and as usual - I will not be there. In keeping with my "maybe next year" responses, I've been standing firm in that I won't do another Comic-Con until I have something that I'm personally responsible for to promote. That said, I'm covering the show virtually again, and the folks at Prop Store just hit me with details on what they'll be showing off - a collection of movie memorabilia that will be auctioned off in the UK in October of 2014. They've got some great stuff, but it's all really unimportant next to what I found on their site. They're holding back on us...

Each year, I avoid going to the annual Comic-Con International in San Diego, always sticking to my guns that I won't do conventions again until I have something new to promote personally. Then I queue Jack Nicholson in my head, and just ponder all of those "wonderful toys" that I'm missing out on, while contemplating a change in position. Some of this year's wonderful toys? The just-revealed STAR WARS Black Series JABBA THE HUTT Throne Room Set (SDCC-Exclusive) and YODA (from the 6" Black Series Line). Check 'em out below...

Not long ago, the folks at NECA sent over an announcement about a a partnership they'd entered into with Twentieth Century Fox Consumer Products to produce new collectibles based on THE SIMPSONS: 25 Greatest Guest Stars. I didn't post the news at the time, because I don't like posting announcements that arrive devoid of pictures (little pet peeve of mine). But, today that's all squared away, as the first five guest stars have been announced: PLAYBOY's Hugh Hefner, Music Icon James Brown, Basketball Star Yao Ming, Actor Tom Hanks, and Detroit Cowboy, Kid Rock.

Get ready, LEGO fans. The folks at LEGO have announced that THE LEGO MOVIE is getting a transmedia merchandising rollout that puts it on-par with Summer Movie Blockbusters. While LEGO building sets are a given (and there will be 17 of them - one of which will debut at San Diego Comic-Con this Saturday), a Video Game, and a whole lot more will be arriving for kids and grownups alike. Check out the full details below, right here on The Rock Father.

I am not attending Comic-Con International in San Diego. Just getting that out there, because people keep asking. I wish I was, but I have to pick-and-choose my adventures... after all, I'm an at-home Dad, and my little ones need me here. That said, I'm still covering some select happenings from SDCC, and my friends at Mimoco are continuing their reveal for their 2013 SDCC Exclusive MIMOBOTs. We already know that characters from SOUTH PARK, STAR WARS, WORKAHOLICS, and MY LITTLE PONY: FRIENDSHIP IS MAGIC are in the lineup. So who's up next? BRUCE LEE, and the Ice King from ADVENTURE TIME. Details below...

Back in 2005, Mimoco launched at the famed San Diego Comic-Con International. Now, eight years later, the Boston-based makers of cool, pop culture-inspired USB flash drives that are not only functional storage devices, but sought-after collectibles, are returning to SDCC with some rockin' goods. As they continue to unveil eight limited-edition drives to celebrate their birthday, they've announced a new version of that famous Wookiee, CHEWBACCA, as a SDCC '13 Exclusive. But Chewy's not coming alone... he's bringing a Golden Protocol Droid as a friend...
