Dig the artwork of Sabine Wren on STAR WARS REBELS? Then you'll want to check out the new book, STAR WARS REBELS: SABINE - MY REBEL SKETCHBOOK. Written by Daniel Wallace with Illustrations by Annie Stoll (as Sabine), the 96-page book follows the similarly in-universe REBEL JOURNAL by EZRA BRIDGER that was released last fall, offering kids of all-ages a look inside the mind of one of their favorite new characters from the STAR WARS canon. Set to hit the streets this February, check out some preview pages and the official boilerplate below...

THE ROCK FATHER is a paid STAR WARS #CommandTheForce Ambassador and has partnered with Hasbro and Life of Dad for this adventure. May The Force Be With You, Always.

I've been trying to Command The Force since about 1977, inspired by a galaxy far, far away...

As part of the first generation to be inspired by the vast universe that George Lucas created, STAR WARS, like The Force itself, surrounds us, penetrates us, and binds people together. As a parent, STAR WARS has also become a bond between father and child, as my wife and I raise two girls as part of the next generation. Like their father before them, these little ones are both creating and recreating some of the galaxy's most epic battles as they Command The Force with the power of their own imaginations. Play is important, and sometimes to find new ways to play, one must look to the past.

rebelssingleLast night, STAR WARS REBELS had it's official premiere on Disney XD after a few weeks of anticipation fueled by the one-hour launch movie, SPARK OF REBELLION (more on that here). Two episodes in and it's a hit here at Rock Father HQ, capturing yours truly in a way that THE CLONE WARS just couldn't, and captivating my little ones as their proper Jedi (or Sith?) training has begun. With the official premiere came the first appearance by some familiar droids - C-3PO and R2-D2 - and the release of the first music video and single inspired by the new show. Check out Kevin Kiner's "Rebels Theme (Flux Pavillion's The Ghost Remix)" below, along with the REBELS RECON recap of "Droids in Distress."

Now this is pretty interesting... and a fantastic move by Disney. The mouse-owned ABC will air STAR WARS REBELS: SPARK OF REBELLION in a special presentation on October 26 at 7pm e/p, but with an additional scene featuring the undisputed king of STAR WARS villains, DARTH VADER.

Star Wars Rebels

I'm an original STAR WARS fan. My relationship with George Lucas' saga dates back to my earliest days, fueling my childhood and helping to shape me into adulthood. I've worked on a movie about STAR WARS... recorded a song about STAR WARS... and at one point, had an entire room full of STAR WARS toys. I wish I'd never sold them, as I'm now a parent, and the next generation of STAR WARS fans is here. While many feared that the prequel trilogy would be STAR WARS for future audiences, the franchise is officially back on-track under the ownership of Disney, and while old folks like me eagerly await the 2015 release of J.J. Abrams' STAR WARS: EPISODE VII, the newly-launched STAR WARS REBELS proves that our beloved saga is in good hands. After seeing an early screening of STAR WARS REBELS: SPARK OF REBELLION ahead of it's recent Disney Channel Premiere, I'm confident that this is my daughter's STAR WARS. And now, we've got it on DVD thanks to an Exclusive early release at Walmart.
