This Thor: Ragnarok special feature is presented in collaboration between The Rock Father™, Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment and Life of Dad.
As Bob Dylan famously sung, “The Times They Are a-Changin’” - and those words, recorded in 1963, are just as relevant now as they were back then. The early 60’s were tumultuous times, and in many ways the uncertainty of that era is reflected in today’s society as the waves of right and wrong continue to clash, reshaping our world in the process. It was from that same era that a powerful warrior came forth - The Mighty Thor first wielding his mythical hammer, Mjolnir in the pages of Marvel Comics’ Journey Into Mystery in the fall of 1962. It might not be immediately recognizable on the surface, but the tales of Thor have much to do with an underlying theme of family, and a parent’s desire to raise their children to be warriors. Some warriors are born, while others are forged and a true “warrior” comes in many faces. Just as Odin wanted only the best for his children, I will do my best to ensure the same for mine...
There's certainly no shortage of collectible figurines available out there, and it seems that everybody has something cool going on. My friends at Entertainment Earth sell many of those, but they've also gotten into the action as a toymaker themselves, putting a decidedly retro spin into action for their own line: Pin Mates. For those looking to build a massive collection that's light on price and small on size, Pin Mates bring pop culture licenses into the realm of tiny wooden figures that recall the old Fisher-Price Little People of the 60s and 70s. With prices starting at just $4.99 a figure, they're really affordable, and one of the coolest recent assortments ties into a film that's just hitting the in-home market - Marvel Studios Thor: Ragnarok. Now available on Blu-ray Combo Pack, Digital HD, DVD and Moves Anywhere, fans can bring home the galactic adventure of Thor and Hulk as we charge toward the coming Avengers: Infinity War. But how about something to play with, too? The crew at Entertainment Earth recently sent me a box of Pin Mates for review, and inside were some extras that I'm going to pass onto one of you! One lucky friend of The Rock Father™ will receive a pack of five (5) Thor: Ragnarok Pin Mates! Ready to Ragnarok?
As expected, Marvel Studios' THOR: RAGNAROK lit up the box office during the early days of November, ushering in a heroic start to the holiday movie season. Like the films that have preceded it in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the latest installment is joined by a full line of toys from Hasbro, and among them are a fresh assortment of role-play items and interactive figures. To celebrate the release of the film, Hasbro sent over an assortment for review, and The Rock Daughters™ were more than happy to crack them open for some new adventures. Check out the review and unboxing video below!
This week, a bunch of my friends are in Los Angeles gearing-up for the red carpet premiere of THOR: RAGNAROK, and while the rest of us have a few more weeks to go before we get to experience the glory of a Thor/Hulk team-up, Marvel Studios is keeping those teasers coming, and the latest focuses on Hela - the Goddess of Death. See Cate Blanchett get "Hela Good" in the featurette below!
Continuing an initiative to encourage young girls to explore the superpower of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) first launched during the ramp-up to Captain America: Civil War, Disney, Marvel Studios, Dolby Laboratories, Synchrony Bank, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, Broadcom MASTERS and the Society for Science & the Public have announced the nationwide MARVEL STUDIOS’ THOR: RAGNAROK SUPERPOWER OF STEM CHALLENGE.
This new event launches in conjunction with the November 3, 2017 theatrical release of Marvel Studios’ Thor: Ragnarok, starring Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Cate Blanchett, Idris Elba, Jeff Goldblum, Tessa Thompson, Karl Urban, Mark Ruffalo and Anthony Hopkins.
Thor and Loki, working together and smiling? Thor and Hulk, sitting together while having a conversation about their mutual love of fire? What kind of madness is coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe this November? In the just-revealed new trailer for THOR: RAGNAROK (which made its debut at SDCC), we get a new look at what looks like the superhero buddy movie we've been missing and just didn't know it. It just looks like everyone is having a ton of fun, and as part of the bigger picture, there's a real sci-fi vibe that makes THOR: RAGNAROK a perfect bridge to when our mighty Asgardian comes face-to-face with the GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY when AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR hits theaters next year. Take a look...
