Poop Talk

When you're a kid, poop is funny. Then you grow up and somehow it becomes less funny by the year, and for whatever reason, a taboo subject... despite the fact that everybody poops. In Poop Talk, a new docu-comedy from director Aaron Feldman, 50 experts and comedians come together to shatter the stigma of poop. From embarrassing moments to the scientific reasoning behind it all, Poop Talk may well be the definitive film about feces. Among those featured are The Sklar Brothers, Randy and Jason, who also serve as Executive Producers on the film, which was initially pitched as "The History of Poop." Feldman calls it "a seemingly high brow approach to a low brow subject," and ahead of its February 16 release via Comedy Dynamics, The Sklar Brothers took some time to throw-down with The Rock Father™ some additional thoughts on the subject in a two-part feature. In particular, "The Great Poop Toy Explosion of 2018,"which is expected to make a big splash at the 115th North American Toy Fair in New York City, the same weekend that Poop Talk hits theaters.

Last summer, something strange began to occur here at Rock Father HQ. Addie, our oldest daughter, started spinning tales of some mythical creatures known as "Neonate Babies." There were other bits and pieces she would tell us - stories peppered with words like "Espongie" and "Nerlie," endearingly spoken in a somewhat-Spanish accent from a child that doesn't speak Spanish... especially when she'd say "Ksi-Meritos". For whatever reason, it took a few months for the entire story to come out, and it was when she started telling us about someone called "Nurse Tania," and that she'd come across her on the YouTube Kids app. While I try to keep the devices to a minimum, this is one example where YouTube videos managed to open up a whole new world, and it's one that I think is poised to be massive. Get ready to explore Neonatopia...

As I type these words, we're in the middle of the biggest snow of the season here in Northern Illinois - another 6" having fallen overnight. Prior to the proper winter season, the last thing we finished outside was the construction of a massive new deck here at Rock Father HQ... but we finished in November, no time to enjoy it last season. Now, looking ahead to warmer temperatures for 2018, it's window-shopping season, and the folks at Char-Broil have just launched a new collection that's caught my eye - a new outdoor modular kitchen, available at Lowes. Outdoor kitchens have been a growing trend these past few years, but they've also been cost-prohibitive for a lot of families. Now, Char-Broil has brought the concept into reach for a much wider audience. Available now, the Modular Outdoor Kitchen includes the 5-Burner TRU-Infrared™ Gas Grill, the Outdoor Stove Top, Refrigerator, and more. Check out a preview...

It's been more than a decade since we saw Venom appear on-screen as a villain in Spider-Man 3, but now times have changed and the character is getting his own chance to shine in a feature of his own. Tom Hardy becomes the latest actor to make the jump from DC (as Bane) to Marvel as Eddie Brock when VENOM hits the big screen this October. Today the first teaser for the film has arrived, complete with a very short synopsis...  "One of Marvel's most enigmatic, complex and badass characters comes to the big screen, starring Academy Award® nominated actor Tom Hardy as the lethal protector Venom." A badass character performed by a badass actor. See it below...

This month brings forth the release of the eighteenth film in the ever-expanding Marvel Cinematic Universe, the highly-anticipated BLACK PANTHER. Right out of the gate, the tale of T'Challa, King of Wakanda, is being hailed as a masterpiece - the best-reviewed Marvel Studios film to-date, and one that is legitimately building Oscar-buzz (though it won't be eligible until next year's ceremony). To celebrate the release of the film, The Rock Father™ has teamed-up with The Hopping Bloggers to present readers with a chance to WIN an epic BLACK PANTHER Prize Pack. Hail to the King!

With the merger between The Walt Disney Company and 21st Century Fox currently underway, it was only a matter of time before some cross-pollination occurred. While many fans look forward to uniting some missing Marvel characters back with their counterparts in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, today we've got our first look at some other opportunities that might present themselves. In the latest trailer for Fox's DEADPOOL 2, Ryan Reynolds takes it upon himself to make up for some unfinished visual FX by acting out scenes with action figures and Hot Wheels. In fact, it looks VERY much like my office here at Rock Father HQ. At one point, Deadpool pays homage to Tom Hanks' Woody from TOY STORY, donning the famous cowboy outfit and telling Cable (Josh Brolin) to "Reach for the sky!" Check it out...
