As Gareth Edwards' Rogue One: A Star Wars Story continues to be discovered by audiences and analyzed by fans, one major point of agreement is that Alan Tudyk's motion-capture performance as reprogrammed Imperial Droid K-2SO is stellar. Devoid of inhibitions and allowed to speak his true feelings at all times, this towering new character is a sidekick for Captain Cassian Andor (Diego Luna), and as many have already seen, a true hero of the Rebellion. Tonight comes a new featurette on K-2SO and his very human performer. Check it out...

A Hero of ROGUE ONE Heads for Star Wars Rebels...

Written by

With Gareth Edwards' Rogue One: A Star Wars Story having just hit theaters this past weekend, I'd held off on a reveal that initially snuck out in an unlikely place - a poster at Toys "R" Us. Today the official announcement has been made that Academy Award-winning actor Forest Whitaker, who stars as Rebel freedom fighter Saw Gerrera in Rogue One, will join the cast of the hit animated series Star Wars Rebels, which is set in a time period just prior to the events of Rogue One. Whitaker will reprise his role as Gerrera, providing the voice of the character as he makes his debut on Star Wars Rebels: Ghosts of Geonosis, Parts One and Two premiering SATURDAY, JANUARY 7 (8:30-9:30 p.m. EST), on Disney XD. Check out a clip below!

This past summer, Illumination Entertainment's The Secret Life of Pets proved to be one of the year's biggest surprises for us. A box office smash, we saw the film at the drive-in, enjoying it alongside hundreds of families under the stars, and the film took its spot as one of 2016's best in the eyes of The Rock Daughters. I loved it, too - more than I expected, if only for the prissy poodle Leonard rockin' out to System of a Down the second that his owner (voiced by Project Runway's Tim Gunn) was out the door. With the film home on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD just in-time for the holidays, this tale of what our pets do when we're not around has secured a spot in my 2016 Holiday Wish Guide - a perfect last-minute gift, along with some fun toys as well!

Holiday Wish Guide: Disney's Elena of Avalor

Presented in Partnership with The Walt Disney Company...

One of the most inspiring new series' for kids to emerge in the past year is Disney's Elena of Avalor. The first Latin-inspired Disney Princess was an immediate hit, quickly becoming a fixture at Disney Parks, and becoming one of Disney Channel's most-watched animated shows. After being held captive in the Amulet of Avalor for over four decades, Elena was freed by Sofia the First and has returned to her kingdom as a brave and adventurous teenager who must now learn to rule as crown princess until she is old enough to be queen. As kids follow Elena's journey, they see the adventure unfold as she learns her to understand that her new role requires thoughtfulness, resilience and compassion, the traits of all truly great leaders. With Elena of Avalor: Ready to Rule now available on DVD, here's a look at some great gift ideas as part of my 2016 Holiday Wish Guide!

Stocking Stuffer: Kubo and the Two Strings

Written by

Laika's Kubo and the Two Strings is another beautiful film from the studio, and one that The Rock Daughters were immediately captivated by - simply by seeing the first trailer on the big screen almost a year ago. Released to rave reviews from audiences and critics alike, the film is home for the holidays on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD, and makes its way into my Holiday Wish Guide as a great Stocking Stuffer!

Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa and Po are back! If you'd have told me twenty years ago that I'd be writing about Teletubbies two decades in the future, I wouldn't have believed it, as I was working in a store back when the Teletubbies craze first hit. It was something that I didn't understand back then, but as a parent now, it's something I can appreciate. With new episodes airing daily on Nick Jr. and new toys hitting the 'States via Spin Master right now, the folks at Sony Pictures Home Entertainment have just released TELETUBBIES: SNOWBALL on DVD, and we've teamed-up to offer readers a shot at a prize pack! One (1) lucky reader of THE ROCK FATHER Magazine will receive TELETUBBIES: SNOWBALL on DVD, plus the new Lullaby Laa-Laa Musical Night Light Plush Toy!

When it comes to classic holiday specials, you can't get much more "classic" than the old Rankin/Bass specials of the 60s and 70s - ones like Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Frosty the Snowman and Santa Claus is Comin' to Town - tales that are now passed along from generation to generation. Collectively known as the "Original Christmas Classics," several of these stories are out on Digital HD (iTunes) for the very first time through DreamWorks Classics (Classic Media), along with an Original Christmas Classics Anniversary Edition Blu-ray Collection. In celebration of the season, DreamWorks Classics and THE ROCK FATHER Magazine are giving you a chance to win the Blu-ray set so that you can share the tradition with your family.

New TV Spots & Clips - Rogue One: A Star Wars Story

Written by

It's almost time. We're just five days out from the debut of Gareth Edwards' Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and after last night's World Premiere at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood, the initial reactions are well-beyond expectations. Today comes some new TV spots serving up some new looks at the film, but as with many films (including last year's Star Wars: The Force Awakens), word on the street is that many of the shots in the trailers are absent from the final film, but that's okay since the tone is captured. Check these out!
