If you're like me and have always wanted to own a Hollywood-inspired "star car," a chance to do so is on the way. Volo Auto Museum in Illinois is clearing out their storage vault to raise money and create room for their forthcoming Punishment and Crime Museum, set to open in 2019. The auction will be held via eBay beginning on September 19, 2018. Those who visit Volo often know it to be a museum where the collection is ever-changing, and sometimes that means some surprises will come up for sale... and when they do, it's because the museum is getting ready to buy. Among the items headed to auction this September are screen-used vehicles from Furious 7, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Ant-Man & The Wasp, American Gangster, Tucker: A Man and His Dream and more, along with replica vehicles based on famous rides from Scooby-Doo, Mad Max, Knight Rider and Back to the Future.

It was during Wizard World Chicago in 2016 that Jumpin' Jamie first hit my radar - performing pop culture and pop punk inspired family music to a live audience. Now, the New Jersey-based kindie rocker is readying his full-length debut album Kookie, a record that's inspired by some of the bands that shaped his own love of music - bands such as Green Day, R.E.M., The Beatles, Weezer, Ash and more. Today, The Rock Father™ is presenting the World Premiere of Jumpin' Jamie's debut single - "Back to the Future" - complete with a music video by artist Marie Chatelot, re-telling the events of Robert Zemeckis' Back to the Future (1985) and Back to the Future II (1989) in stop-motion cardboard animation. Crank up the speakers and fire up the Flux Capacitor, then hit "play" on the video below!

The title pretty much says it all: With the release of his new video for "Last Time For Everything," Brad Paisley just unleashed the music video that I've wanted to make for myself since 1985. Indeed, the nostalgia factor is high, from the title sequence and bikes inspired by the Netflix Original Series Stranger Things, to the inclusion of walkie talkies, a boys-only clubhouse, a DeLorean, the Ghostbusters' Ecto-1, a SONY Walkman commercial, UFOs, dinosaurs, and appearance by my idol, David Hasselhoff and K.I.T.T. from the greatest television series of all-time, Knight Rider. Best of all, the action is all captured in beautiful VHS quality, dated October 26, 1985. But I have to ask... Brad, what's with the life preserver?

First revealed at New York Toy Fair back in 2016, the collaboration between Funko and Playmobil was a bit of an unexpected one. Playmobil is one of my favorite toy lines of all-time, producing quality, German-designed toys since 1974. Funko is a more recent success story, the Washington-based maker of Pop! Vinyl ever-expanding their footprint into the pop culture world and beyond. For Funko x Playmobil, the two toymakers have partnered for a series of 6" collectible figures that are scaled more in-line with what Funko is known for, but with the iconic Playmobil look and feel. What makes these special is that they're the first-ever pop culture licenses to appear in Playmobil form, and while they're bigger than the norm, they also serve as a preview for Playmobil Ghostbusters, which launches in May of 2017. With the first wave of Funko x Playmobil officially released, my friends at Entertainment Earth sent over an assortment of figures for review here at Rock Father HQ, and one duo that I was really excited to see was Doctor Emmett Brown and Marty McFly from Back to the Future!

Last year, one big story out of New York Toy Fair was that for the very first time, Playmobil would be issuing toys based on famous pop culture licenses. Promised to debut in 2017, this was exciting news on its own, but another component of the launch was revealed to be a collaboration with Funko on some larger figures presented in 6" scale. Today, Funko x Playmobil is a reality, and the first wave of 6" collectible figures is available for pre-order through my ally, Entertainment Earth! The first twelve figures are spread over five pop culture licenses including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Back to the Future, Ghostbusters, Doctor Who and Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory... and one of them is an Entertainment Earth Exclusive TMNT Black and White Raphael!
