It's "New Music Tuesday" (one of the last times I can say that, as new releases shift to Fridays beginning July 10), and today there's something new for the whole family. Two of my kindie friends - TWINKLE TIME and MISTA COOKIE JAR - have teamed up for a new single and video called "Kidz Rock." Both artists produce bilingual jams for the kids and family market, and this one - released to coincide with Dia Del Niño (April 30) is a fresh mix of EDM, hip hop and pop. Check it out below, and if you dig it, buy the track direct from Twinkle via Bandcamp.

Singer/Songwriter SABRINA CARPENTER can be seen regularly on GIRL MEETS WORLD, and tonight she debuted her new music video for "We'll Be the Stars" on Disney Channel. The song is out now as a digital single, and will be included on Sabrina's debut album later this spring. Her 2014 EP CAN'T BLAME A GIRL FOR TRYING is available as well. Check out the new video below...

On February 24, KID ROCK is back with his first release for Warner Bros. Records when FIRST KISS hits the streets. This week, the video for the title track arrived - a nostalgic tune that's getting a lot of comparisons to Bryan Adams' "Summer of '69" (especially that opening riff), and one that's got a lot of crossover appeal, but a real warm weather vibe to help with these cold months we're in. I've always imagined that every time the members of OK Go sit down to brainstorm a new music video, one of them throws down a pencil and curses their 2005 treadmill-hopping clip for "Here It Goes Again" (I played that a ton on ROCK BAND) as the piece that started them down an elaborate path that grows more complex with each new album. The latest in their string of continuous-take videos is for "I Won't Let You Down," the second single from their recently-released album, HUNGRY GHOSTS. Check it out below...

RED YARN's THE DEEP WOODS is one of my favorite family albums of this past year, and one that made it as an "Honorable Mention" and a "Top Debut" in the 2014 Fids & Kamily Music Awards, for which I served as a judge. Tasty Americana, RED YARN mixes folky goodness with something that I love very much... puppets. Now comes the music video for "Rattlesnake," a traditional American folk song that has been adapted by Andy Furgeson for the RED YARN album. In actuality, the video is part of a larger pilot episode being pitched for a RED YARN television series. Check it out below, right here on THE ROCK FATHER...

There's a very slight chance that you might be having deja vu right now, as I did include the longform music video for PRODUCT OF HATE's THE UNHOLY MANIPULATOR in last year's 31 Days of Halloween. Reason it's back? I directed and edited the video, and it just became an Official Selection of the 2014 Open Wound Horror Film Festival, which means that those attending the Santa Fe Comic-Con next weekend will get a chance to see it on the big screen. When we filmed this, we'd always hoped that it would become something of a "perennial favorite" for each Halloween season, and that looks to be happening. After all, it's got some fairly horrific elements, and since I do run a family site, I wouldn't recommend this one for viewing around kids or at work (unless you work somewhere really cool).
