It's not the first time they've been lullabied, but GREEN DAY fans can check out a new collection of lullabies inspired by the trio with LULLABY VERSIONS OF GREEN DAY. The folks over at Roma Music Group hit The Rock Father with the full details on the set, which hit iTunes and Amazon today under their popular Twinkle Twinkle Little Rock Star line - which is now up to 77(!) titles. Check out the tracklisting below...

I've been telling you about RIFF ROCKIT since I reviewed his debut album here on The Rock Father this past March, and if you have kids and like to rock - then hopefully you've checked him out. Riff will soon release his first DVD, RIFF ROCKIT: LIVE IN CONCERT, and today a couple of previews hit Riff's Facebook, so I couldn't resist sharing them with you here. Check out the trailer, and a full performance of 'Jump Up' below. I've said it before, but this reminds me a lot of KIDS INCORPORATED...

Ya know, I get a ton of news and invites to events in New York City - specifically Brooklyn - but hardly see anything come through for homebase (between Chicago and Milwaukee). I'm not sure why, but it would seem that Brooklyn is just as much a mecca for family music events as it is for indie rock. That said, here's another cool event for families, set to take place this Sunday, July 22nd. It's the MIL'S TRILLS 2nd ANNUAL SUMMER BASH: UKE CAN CHANGE THE WORLD. Check out the full details below.

Musicbot 6000 here with a press release from BEN RUDNICK & FRIENDS, who will release their 10th album this October...

Propelled by a sonic boom of critical praise crowned by six Parents' Choice Awards, Ben Rudnick & Friends are poised to launch a veritable explosion of creative energy with the October 2 release of their tenth album, Love is a Superpower.

Rock Father Musicbot 6000 here with a press release from actress Valarie Pettiford, who will release a new collection of original lullabies on September 18...

Valarie Pettiford is a rare breed, a tried-and-true triple threat. From the stages of Broadway to the soundstages of Hollywood, she has charmed audiences with her performances. A Fosse-trained dancer, Pettiford was nominated for her work in the musical revue, Fosse, which paid homage to her mentor. As an actor, she has created characters for which fans still recognize her, such as Big Dee Dee Thorne on the hit sitcom, Half and Half, and Aunt Geneva, whose rehearsal dinner musical number nearly stole Jumping the Broom from co-stars Angela Bassett, Loretta Devine and Paula Patton. For those who have had the pleasure of hearing Valarie Pettiford sing, whether in a musical or one of her women cabaret shows, it is her smooth, decadent and resplendent voice that they remember.

LA-based musician MELISSA GREEN has a new family-oriented album called SING LOUD! due out on July 31st, and today she's released the music video for the title track. You can check it out below, right here on The Rock Father. You might recall mention of SING LOUD! before, as it's the album that features Brooke Shields on two tracks.

This could be the biggest Lullaby record of the year. Twinkle Twinkle Little Rock Star just sent over details on Lullaby Pop HitZzz Vol 1, a new collection of 15 songs from the likes of Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Justin Bieber, Foster the People, Owl City, and more - all given the ''lush instrumental'' lullaby treatment. Check out the tracklisting below, then hit this link to grab the album on iTunes. In a lot of ways, this reminds me of PUNK GOES POP, but for the smallest little members of the family.

Somehow I missed this. Maybe it's because this past week was abnormally busy and the 4th of July fell on a Wednesday, but somehow I missed a release from my buds over at Twinkle Twinkle Little Rock Star - LULLABY VERSIONS OF WIDESPREAD PANIC. Returning to the jam band realm as they did with Phish and the Grateful Dead, these are ''lush instrumental versions'' of hits that call upon listeners to ''soothe your coconut and dream of the space wrangler tonight.'' Check out the tracklisting below, then click here to get it on iTunes.

For our friends in NYC, Brooklyn is getting another family-friendly music festival as the HIP TOT MUSIC FEST will be taking place on the Second Sunday of every month, beginning July 8th. Sponsored by Plum Organics (my toddler loves their stuff), the fest will take place at Littlefield in the Gowanus section of Brooklyn. Check out the dates and performers below, then hit this link for tickets and more info.

Greetings, Friends! Musicbot 6000 here with a press release from BIG BANG BOOM, who are getting ready to release a new record of family rock. Check it out!

Hot on the heels of winning a Grand Prize in this year's John Lennon Songwriting Contest, North Carolina's favorite power pop band for kids, Big Bang Boom, is poised to come front and center on the national stage with the September 18 release of their third studio CD, Because I Said So!

In all the pre-and-post baby commotion over the past month, there's a lot of stuff that I've missed. One such bit of news is the July 3 release of SCIENCE FAIR, a compilation of 18 exclusive tracks crafted to benefit science and engineering education for girls. This album features a ton of popular names in the family music world and beyond, and will be released on Spare the Rock Records. The first video from the album, MATES OF STATE performing ''I Am A Scientist'' can be viewed at Paste. Check out more details below...
