Animator/Model Maker Charlotte Blacker got in touch last night with a link to a new video that she's just completed for CASPAR BABY PANTS - the kindie alter-ego of Chris Ballew, leader of THE PRESIDENTS OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. ''We had 2 months to knit and build the puppets as well as animate and edit the piece together,'' said Blacker of the new video. ''We had a lot of fun working on this.'' Check out ''Stompy the Bear'' from the album HOT DOG! below.

Updated 5/29 - the album is now available on iTunes.

RECESS MUSIC announce "Someone Else's Shoes"

Written by

Recess Music has announced a July 31 release date for their latest compilation, SOMEONE ELSE'S SHOES. The third installment of their 'Best Foot Forward' series of albums following BIG BULLY and U R SOME 1, this new release follows the 'course in manners' formula to encourage families to consider the thoughts and feelings of others.  Details on the artists included can be viewed below.

I vaguely remember hearing something about MOTION DEVICE, a Canadian band with a 10-year-old frontgirl awhile back. Sara, the vocalist, was maybe 8 or 9 the last time they crossed my internet path, and now they're back with a pair of covers from ALICE COOPER and OZZY OSBOURNE. Kids that rock this hard are impressive, but hopefully someone other than me will tell them to ditch that terrible Morpheus-font that they're using on their logo. Check out School's Out and Crazy Train below, then give 'em a LIKE on Facebook to show your support for their rock!

Watch: 17 Kindie Artists, 1 Hotel Room

Written by

I missed out on KindieFest this year, and being one of the newer folks that covers Kindie Rock, I can't say that I'm 100% familiar with everyone in this video. That said, 17 Kindie Artists, 1 Hotel Room is a fun watch, and I think you'll agree. Filmed at the recent festival and uploaded onto the Ralph's World YouTube Channel tonight, the video can be seen below:

To this day, whenever I hear about THE SHINS, I immediately think of the movie GARDEN STATE. I'm not even a huge fan of the band or movie (like 'em, just never have the urge to experience them again), but my wife loves both, so the connection is there. Of course I'm only discussing this now because the folks at Twinkle Twinkle Little Rock Star just sent over word that they've released LULLABY VERSIONS OF THE SHINS. Check out the tracklisting and Zach Braff-homaging cover art below, then hit this link to snag the album on iTunes.

I was not aware that 'America's National Park for the Performing Arts' existed until this evening. WOLF TRAP, located in Vienna, Virginia, is just such a place - and one with several venues contained within. The reason I'm telling you this? WOLF TRAP has an excellent slate of family-friendly musical fare this summer, and it all happens at their Children's Theatre in the Woods.

Well, that certainly didn't take long. Rising artist GOTYE is one of the latest artists to get the Lullaby Treatment, but not from one of the bigger lullaby companies. A label called 'Big Eye Music' has just released LULLABY RENDITIONS OF GOTYE, which hit iTunes and other digitial retailers today. The tracklisting for this mellow collection of songs (mostly reworked from GOTYE's 2011 MAKING MIRRORS album) can be viewed below. Will your little one be rocking some Gotye in the Nursery?

With Mother's Day fast-approaching (it's this Sunday, May 13 - so go get those cards!), THE HARMONICA POCKET is serving up a FREE DOWNLOAD of their new song, ''Happy Mother's Day (Reggae Version).'' The song will be one of many included on their August release, APPLE APPLE, and was recorded at their ''solar-powered studio on a tiny island in the Pacific Northwest.''
