Fans of LANA DEL REY have three new ways to experience her music this week, as the crew at Roma Music Group have just released a trio of new tributes to the talked-about songstress, starting with LULLABY VERSIONS OF LANA DEL REY (Amazon | iTunes) as part of their popular TWINKLE TWINKLE LITTLE ROCK STAR series of baby-friendly nursery jams based on 14 of Lana's biggest hits and fan favorites. Check out "Summertime Sadness" and the full tracklisting below, right here on THE ROCK FATHER.

While the folks at Roma Music Group already have LULLABY VERSIONS OF SOUNDGARDEN hitting the streets this Tuesday as part of their TWINKLE TWINKLE LITTLE ROCK STAR line, they've actually got another EP ready for the nursery that I'd overlooked - LULLABY VERSIONS OF BUSH (Amazon | iTunes). Yes, Gavin Rossdale and the gang are getting six of their most popular hits reworked into nursery-friendly jams for baby. Come to think of it, Rossdale's a father of four and his wife was already lullabied back in 2011 with TWINKLE TWINKLE LITTLE ROCK STAR: LULLABY VERSIONS OF GWEN STEFANI AND NO DOUBT. Preview "Glycerine" below, right here on THE ROCK FATHER...

This Tuesday, August 19, Brooklyn kindie stars THE POP UPS will release APPETITE FOR CONSTRUCTION (pre-order: Amazon | iTunes), their third full-length effort, and the follow-up to 2012's excellent, GRAMMY-nominated RADIO JUNGLE (reviewed here). To mark the impending release, THE POP UPS have partnered with THE ROCK FATHER to debut "Block House" as part of their #10Songs10Days promotion. With a deliciously-80s synth-pop groove, "Block House" is a celebration of building a mighty tower of alphabet blocks - a time-honored tradition for kids everywhere. The third track on the album itself, "Block House" fits perfectly into a collection of songs that are "dedicated to the simple joy of making things with family and friends." Stream it below...

Next Tuesday, the crew over at Roma Music Group will release their latest EP, LULLABY VERSIONS OF SOUNDGARDEN (Amazon | iTunes), an eight-song collection of the biggest hits and fan favorites from the Seattle band, re-worked into nursery-friendly jams for baby. The latest release comes on the heels of LULLABY VERSIONS OF STONE TEMPLE PILOTS and today's release of LULLABY VERSIONS OF CREED (Nooooo!). Check out "Black Hole Sun" (which my oldest daughter says is "So cute!") below, right here on THE ROCK FATHER...

We're big fans of GUSTAFER YELLOWGOLD around these parts, Morgan Taylor's little sun-spawned creation having been mentioned in no less than 16 articles here on the site, over the years, and his YEAR IN THE DAY reviewed on THE ROCK FATHER way back in 2012 (two years seems pretty long these days) and being awarded a perfect 5-star review. On September 23, the follow-up arrives with the release of GUSTAFER YELLOWGOLD'S WISDOM TOOTH OF WISDOM, the next installment of the award-winning "Musical Moving Book" series of DVD/CD combos. Check out an extended, nearly four-minute trailer below...

KidzapaloozaIf you're heading out to Lollapalooza this weekend in Chicago and you have little ones along for the ride, the Kidzapalooza stage has some fine, family-friendly music from the likes of BRADY RYMER AND THE LITTLE BAND THAT COULD, PLAY DATE, SCHOOL OF ROCK and more. But this year, something special is happening - performances by the Chicago Kindie All-Stars on Friday (1:30pm) and Saturday (12:30pm) featuring some of the Windy City's best family music stars performing alongside THE HEARTBEATS, best-known as LAURA DOHERTY's backing band. How many All-Stars you ask? Six.

THE WHIRLYGIGS are is a one-man band, perhaps the first one-man affair that I've covered here on THE ROCK FATHER. With MR. WHIRLY performing up to four instruments at one time (but only having two arms), the man pulls of the band on his debut album, GREETINGS FROM CLOUD 9 (Amazon, iTunes, Bandcamp), but the big challenge now is getting it in front of a wide audience, and as such - Whirly is offering a FREE DOWNLOAD of the new track, "Lookin' Out the Window." Stream it below...

MISTER G has been touring hard this summer - touring libraries - in support of his latest album, THE BOSSY E. From that record comes a brand-new animated music video that's making it's official debut this morning... "Love To Read." Take a look at the new video, right here on THE ROCK FATHER...

Is it live, or is it MEMOREX? Today, MISTA COOKIE JAR unleashes "My My My," the first music video from his brand-new EP, 3'S A CHARM. The video is a look back at his family, and it's best intro'd complete with a Memorex nod from the man himself. CJ, take it away...

Welcome to THE ROCK FATHER's Kindie Scene 6, a new column in which you'll find some quick thoughts on six genre-spanning family-friendly albums that you can check out right now. On-deck today, we've got records spinning from BRADY RYMER, ERIC HERMAN, RIFF ROCKIT, THE OKEE DOKEE BROTHERS, DJANGO JONES and SUZI SHELTON. Let's get to work...

Two years ago, BEA MILLER appeared on THE X FACTOR, scoring a slot as a finalist and finishing ninth. Now, the 15-year-old (weird to me that she was born the same year I got married) has a new EP out through Hollywood Records/SYCO Music, and this week, the official music video for the title track has arrived. Check out "Young Blood" below, along with a few words about the single from Miss Miller...

The crew over at Roma Music Group has been busy of late - working feverishly on new lullaby collections devoted to artists both current, and cult favorite. This week sees the release of the latest album to become a part of their popular TWINKLE TWINKLE LITTLE ROCK STAR series - LULLABY VERSIONS OF NICK CAVE AND THE BAD SEEDS (available on Amazon or iTunes)The new record features 13 tracks, all re-worked into nursery-friendly instrumentals... including "Red Right Hand," which always makes me think of the movie SCREAM. Check out "Into My Arms" below...
