Video Debut: THE NOT-ITS! "Washington, D.C."

Written by

What an Election year this has been. With unprecedented wackiness on all sides of the aisle, we can expect the chaos and controversy to continue well through Election Day, Tuesday, November 8th. As I've already experienced here at Rock Father HQ, kids are asking questions, and whether Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump, or an unlikely-to-win third-party candidate will be getting your vote this season (I'm voting for Optimus Prime since I agree with his platform that "Freedom is the right of all sentient beings"), there's an opportunity to use this season to teach kids how our system is supposed to work. At that center of that system is Washington, D.C. - a city that evokes some natural curiosity in kids... a place unlike any other in the United States, and today Seattle's THE NOT-ITS! are paying tribute with the release of their new music video. "Washington, D.C." is a song that's been featured here on THE ROCK FATHER™ Magazine in the past (get a free download here), and today it's back as one of my favorite bands in the "Kindie Scene" (and one with legit indie cred) goes on a big adventure...

This November, Keith Munslow and Bridget Brewer are set to release their first collaborative album of music for kids and families, with BIG BUNCHA BUDDIES. They've already been performing some of the new songs around Rhode Island, but until now, there hasn't been a formal taste of what to expect. With Halloween creeping-up, it's pretty appropriate that the first single to be released is one that's more... unleashed... from the crypt - a tale of "Jilly the Ghost!" You can't see her, but she sees you!

On October 14, two-time GRAMMY nominee Justin Roberts will release his 13th family music album, LEMONADE. “It's the musical equivalent of an impromptu lemonade stand popping up in the summer heat,” says Roberts about the new record, and today we're giving you a first-look at the music video for the title track, right here on THE ROCK FATHER Magazine. A sweet and cheery number, "Lemonade" carries its summery-vibe right into fall. Gather the kids and have a look and listen...

Joe's Live Brings Kids Concerts to Rosemont...

Written by

Earlier this year, the folks behind Joe's Pub on Weed St in Chicago planted a flag in the suburbs by opening Joe's Live at the MB Financial Park in Rosemont, Illinois. An immediate hit with a mix of pop, country and party bands, this Fall finds the venue entering completely new territory, albeit a realm that I personally have been covering here on the site for the past six years: the Kindie Scene. Kids Shows at Joe's will take place on select Saturday mornings at 11am, beginning September 24th with an appearance by Randy Kaplan. Future dates have been booked into December with what should be some familiar names to readers of THE ROCK FATHER Magazine, including Poochamungus and Miss Jamie From the Farm. Check out the initial lineup below...

On September 30, Amazon will release the latest in their growing library of original children's and family music exclusively streaming on Prime Music, with DREAM TOO MUCH, the debut kindie album from AMY LEE, the GRAMMY award-winning co-founder and lead vocalist of the rock band, Evanescence. This week brings the release of the animated video for the title track, which can be seen below, right here on THE ROCK FATHER Magazine...

You heard it here first that LAURA MARANO's version of the theme song from MIRACULOUS: TALES OF LADYBUG & CAT NOIR  would have its music video premiere at San Diego Comic-Con, and with that behind us, the video is online thanks to Nickelodeon. Take a peek below, and read-on for what's next for MIRACULOUS!
