Holiday Wish Guide: MARVEL Super Hero Mashers Ultimate Avengers Set

Written by

We've covered Hasbro's MARVEL Super Hero Mashers here on the site for well over a year now, going back to when they first launched. For the uninitiated, Hasbro's Hero Mashers line has been a runaway hit - moving beyond just "Super" Heroes, and into the realms of TRANSFORMERS, JURASSIC PARK and STAR WARS (and you can combine ALL OF THEM). It was a new play pattern (that's since been copied by other toymakers) that taps into kids' natural instinct to pull their figures apart and make their own, original, "Frankenstein" creations. Thing is, back in the day, that would equal a lot of broken toys. Not anymore. When I was working on Hasbro's #SummerOfMarvel promotion not long ago, the last thing we received was something I'd saved for my annual Holiday Wish Guide - the MARVEL Super Hero Mashers Ultimate Avengers Set. This 22-piece collection is fine starting off point, or a great addition to any kid's existing collection, offering little Avengers the opportunity to build a new hero from a variety of familiar pieces.

One point to be aware of here is something that other parents have pointed out, and that's that this particular set only includes one pair of legs, which means you'll only be able to craft one hero at a time - unless or until you have additional sets. Should you buy this as a first set, I'd recommend picking up at least one additional hero (usually less than $10) to keep the action rolling for hours of fun.
