Despite the fact that Beetlejuice was a massive hit with a following that continues to grow, the long-rumored sequel has never materialized. Rumors swirl every few years, most recently picking up steam again in mid-2016 before being put to bed by director Tim Burton himself, claiming that a sequel "just has to be right." Personally, I think the original film is just fine on its own, though as the release of BLADE RUNNER 2049 has shown, a sequel more than three decades down the line just may work.
