Hot Summer Toys: Splash Into Adventure with Swimways x Star Wars and The Avengers!

Written by

With summer officially here, that means a lot of wet fun for a good percentage of the population. Personally, my family thinks I'm a party pooper since I don't particularly care for swimming, and like Anakin Skywalker I'm not a big fan of sand either so that makes me a ton of fun at the beach. But my kids love the water - in fact, they've been in swimming lessons since shortly after birth and they make me pretty proud. Where I draw the line is with putting a pool here at Rock Father HQ (I love our big, solid yard). Fortunately, Grandma has one, and that's been the perfect spot to enjoy some of the new inflatables from the folks at Swimways (a subsidiary of Spin Master). After seeing a few at Toy Fair, we received a few for review, and the ones that they sent are pretty appropriately themed for my areas of expertise - they're Star Wars and Marvel.

Swimways Captain America Pool Bop Bag

With Avengers: Infinity War being one of the biggest movies of the year (and all-time), kids may want to unleash their inner Thanos by taking on the Avengers themselves, and now they can. Bop bags are always fun, and now Swimways has them designed for water use. Captain America, Hulk and Iron Man are all available, and kids can give ''em a good wack and watch them stand right back up.

The Star Wars: The Last Jedi BB-8 Pool Float (available from ShopDisney and other major retailers) is five feet long and the perfect size for kids and many grownups to have some relaxing fun in the sun with Poe Dameron's faithful Astromech Droid.

Swimways Star Wars Millennium Falcon Pool Float Review

But out of everything we received, the favorite is the Millennium Falcon Pool Float. At over 5 feet long, this thing functions just like the BB-8 model, but it's slightly bigger and feels more balanced. With Solo: A Star Wars Story presenting some new adventures of Han Solo, Chewbacca and Lando Calrissian, maybe kids will want to pretend that they're making a Kessel Run on water... or just relax as they feel The Force of cool waves.

For a full assortment of water toys and accessories (and they make a ton of fun stuff for all ages), check out the official Swimways website.
