Technically, it's Christmas Eve here at Rock Father HQ. I wasn't planning to update here on Xmas eve, but the folks over at Diamond Select Toys just hit Facebook with something I have to share. It's no secret that I'm a HUGE fan of KNIGHT RIDER, and thanks to DVD and morning re-runs on G4, my 3½ year-old daughter is now one as well. She'll tell you all about KNIGHT RIDER, K.I.T.T., and Michael Knight. In fact, we just caught the new Lifetime Movie THE CHRISTMAS CONSULTANT starring David Hasselhoff, and she told me that "Michael Knight was decorating the Christmas tree." He sure was...

With their 1:15 Scale version of K.I.T.T. in comic book and specialty shops now, and an Entertainment Earth exclusive in the pipeline for February (complete with a companion Michael Knight action figure - pre-order now!), Diamond Select Toys is looking ahead into 2013 with an early sneak-preview of their rumored 1:15 Scale "Super Pursuit Mode" K.I.T.T. Check out the brief video below:

As a kid that had the famous "Kenner Voice Car" in the 80s, I always wished for a Super Pursuit Mode (SPM) companion for it. A feature introduced in the show's fourth and final season via a "special two-hour movie" that was filmed right here in Chicago, I've always dug the additional features that SPM provided.

Diamond Select makes some rockin' vehicles (we have their 1:15 Scale BACK TO THE FUTURE DeLorean Time Machine), so I'm looking forward to tracking one of these down so I can cruise it around the family room with my daughter. Now, if Diamond Select could get working on a 1:15 Scale F.L.A.G. semi along with figures for Devon, Bonnie, RC3, and Garth... I'd certainly appreciate it. Then get a K.A.R.R. and a GOLIATH ready to go, and we could have some great adventures.

mk8inchThey've already got a 8" Michael Knight action figure (kind of MEGO-style) set for release next spring (pre-order here), so it seems that more KNIGHT RIDER toys may well be in our future.

Are you introducing KNIGHT RIDER to a new generation through your young kids?
