AC/DC has certainly been the soundtrack for more than a few high-speed rides taken by yours truly, so when news hit my inbox that car enthusiast and sometimes racer BRIAN JOHNSON - the voice of AC/DC - would be hosting a new series called CARS THAT ROCK, my interest was piqued. Now, the problem is, it's only airing in the UK thus far, premiering on Discovery's Quest Channel on May 8. While I suspect it will eventually get imported Stateside (one would hope), the preview can be found below, alongside some newly-released images. Thus far, it appears that Mini, Bugatti, Rolls Royce and Lamborghini will be featured on the show, while Ferrari features in the trailer.

Pop MarktHeard any rumors today? The mill is churning that AC/DC is breaking up due to Malcolm Young's health, causing countless sites to report on their demise prior to a single word from the band. The rumors are not true, and the band "is not on the cusp of retirement," according to an article published on Billboard a short while ago. What is true, is that an email just arrived here at Rock Father HQ from MyPlayDirect, announcing that in perfect timing to go with all this hoopla - AC/DC - BACKTRACKS (DELUXE COLLECTORS EDITION) has been put on-sale at Pop Market for just 18 hours (unless they sell-out earlier). While I can't tell you the price here on THE ROCK FATHER, I can confirm that it's less than 50% of it's $199.99 list. Here's the details...

How perfect is this? AC/DC is providing the soundtrack to the latest trailer for PLANES: FIRE & RESCUE, the sequel to last year's hit, PLANES. The new film from DisneyToon Studios will hit theaters on July 18, 2014, and finds Dusty Crophopper (Dane Cook) joining the Aerial Fire Fighters at Piston Peak Air Attack Base as a Single Engine Air Tanker (SEAT) for a completely new adventure outside the racing circuit. Check out the new trailer (complete with "Thunderstruck") below, along with new character poses from some new rides that will undoubtedly wind up here at Rock Father HQ in toy form later this year...

As The Rock Father, it's my wife... the mother of my two daughters... that is truly the backbone of this family. I've noted this before, but I could never do what she does. She works full-time outside of the home to support our lifestyle, to provide for our children, and to support my crazy adventures. She's a great Mom, and while our little ones might not fully appreciate just how much she does (yet), the smiles on their faces each night solidify the fact that all is right.

AC/DC is the World’s Perfect Rock Band. It’s a scientifically-proven fact, and if you don’t believe me… well, I bet that there’s a study out there somewhere that can back that up.

Whether scientific or subjective, I do believe that there is not, nor will there ever be a hard rock band with as much “right” as AC/DC.

My daughter seems to agree.

What if THE BEATLES would've altered course to create an album called "DADDY ROAD?" What if Dave Grohl had opted not for his band to be the FOO FIGHTERS, but the more fecal-focused POO FIGHTERS? These are questions explored over at Dad On the Run's blog this week as he reworks some classic album covers into baby-inspired versions.
