The late 80s and early 90s were a fun time for Disney television animation, and as the forthcoming Disney XD reboot of DuckTales should indicate, audiences are ready for a throwback. At the same time those classic cartoons were delighting kids after school, the age of 8-bit and 16-bit gaming was hitting hard, and titles based on the television series were being released on a regular basis. Now, those looking for a new burst of retro gaming goodness can delve into Capcom's The Disney Afternoon Collection - a value-priced bundle of six classic games, perfect for parents like me to introduce a new generation to some NES classics via PC, Xbox One and Playstation 4.  Check out a preview below...

I keep getting reminders that I need an Xbox One. I loved DEAD RISING, then missed DEAD RISING 2, but when DEAD RISING 3 was announced... it was exclusive to the "next generation" system. Now there's this crazy new thing called Super Ultra Dead Rising 3 Arcade Remix Hyper Edition EX +α, a new DLC experience that adds to DEAD RISING 3 and features 35 original songs by composer Oleksa Lozowchuk and various artists including Traz Damji, QUAZR, Stu Goldberg and SKY 13. Want the soundtrack? Sumthing Else Music Works has made the official soundtrack album available as a free digital download exclusively at their official site.

MEGA MAN is 25 years old. Let that one sink in for a minute. Sumthing Music Works just hit The Rock Father with the full details on MM25: MEGA MAN ROCKS, a new, 18-track collection featuring songs inspired by the MEGA MAN franchise, and performed by MEGA MAN fan-favorite bands including THE PROTOMEN, THE MEGAS, X-HUNTERS, MEGA RAN, BIT BRIGADE, and ARM CANNON. First off: I was not aware that Disney Interactive and Capcom had released DUCKTALES: REMASTERED (a modern re-do of the old NES game), and I'm saddened that I'm just finding out about it now, but glad to have gained this knowledge. Second: Disney emailed me last night with a link to the OH MY DISNEY blog, on which they've revealed a collection of DuckTales-inspired posters from the folks at Mondo (who always make great stuff). The kicker? They'll be going on-sale sometime TODAY (August 28, 2013), so if you want one, you have to act fast. Mondo posters tend to sell-out ridiculously fast. Check out some of the posters and some DuckTales: Remastered Videos below...
