Hasbro is getting into the micro-collectible blind box realm with a new collection called LOST KITTIES. There will be over 100 to collect beginning this June, and each will have their own mischievous interests as part of eight Lost Kitties "squads" including the #Nomz, #Cattitude, #WorkinIt, #ifIfits, #Adorbs, #ScaredyCats, #Cathletic and #NotFelineIt. Ahead of the launch, Hasbro has unleashed the first-ever Lost Kitties music video, called "Who'z Hidin' Inside" - a parody of The Knack's "My Sharona."

The Original Whiffer Sniffers have the distinction of being included in my annual Holiday Wish Guide twice - making the list in back-to-back years for 2016 & 2017. Of the countless collectible backpack clips out there, Whiffer Sniffers win across the board, with adorable characters, great design, and scents that are actually pretty good (I love last year's pumpkin spice offering). For 2018, Series 6 is here and it's rolling out with new characters in two parts. There's also some Super Sniffers along with an Easter offering as well. Curious what the kids will want next? Take a look at the latest additions to The Whiffer Sniffers' roster... personally, I think Series 2 is gonna be perfect for summer, and I've got my eye on Apollo Freeze for myself!

Every time I think that the micro-collectibles bubble is about to burst, something comes along that reinforces the fact that there's no sign of that happening. In fact, the market is evolving and kids can't get enough of these small little toys. Evolution brings us to the launch of Cake Pop Cuties, a new line from Basic Fun that checks the boxes on several current trends, combining the brightly-colored blind box appeal of toys like L.O.L. Surprise with the strange appeal of the slow-rise squishes movement into a tiny little package that's appropriately shaped like... a cake pop. Available soon at most major retailers (Amazon is taking pre-orders), Cake Pop Cuties is backed by a CGI-animated webseries and boasts over 36 different Cuties and Sweeties to collect in the first wave. Without a doubt, Hatchimals were the hottest holiday toy of last year. Now, Spin Master is expanding that world with Hatchimals Colleggtibles - a new series of micro-collectible figures and accessories, born from the magical world of Hatchtopia. Arriving at retailers this spring, these collectible figures bring the magic of Hatchimals to small-scale, still requiring the love of a child to hatch. Available in single blind bags, 2-packs (with nest) and 4-packs (with bonus), kids can rub the heart on each speckled egg to help their new friends hatch. When the heart changes from purple to pink, it's time to crack the egg (by pressing on it) to see who's waiting inside. My friends at Spin Master sent us a small assortment for review in The Toy Testing Facility here at Rock Father HQ, and this is what we got. Check out the video below!

Entertainment EarthOn April 1, 1996, Entertainment Earth launched with a small office, a garage, and a website. The idea back then was to give collectors a one-stop shop for what was then a new thing - Hasbro's Kenner STAR WARS Power of The Force action figures. That's exactly when I jumped into STAR WARS collecting hardcore. The weird thing now is that in 1996, RETURN OF THE JEDI was just 13 years old, and the "vintage" STAR WARS figures had only been off the market for about 11. To think that we're now 20 years past that relaunch of STAR WARS, and 33 years past ROTJ... well, it just makes me feel old. But, as times have changed, Entertainment Earth has grown to a massive operation, and while they're still a great source for toys from STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS, they're now keyed-into just about any kind of toys and collectibles that any entertainment or pop culture lover could want. Check out the cool history video they've put together...
