It's taken a few months of of fan deliberation, but now the decision is official - Crayola announced "Bluetiful" as the name of its new blue crayon. Bluetiful will be the nineteenth active blue color, replacing the previously retired Dandelion in the 24-count box and across the entire Crayola portfolio. Bluetiful received over 40% of fan votes to score the win and was officially unveiled this week at a blue-themed event in NYC. Additionally, there's a brand-new version of "Big Blue" - the world's largest crayon, which we previously visited when we road-tripped to the Crayola Experience back in 2014.
With the amount of options available for kids in the diecast aisles, it's often easy to overlook some of the most creative ones in the mix. From Mattel's Hot Wheels Super Rigs Collection comes the Pencil Pusher, a removable cab semi-truck that's inspired by the creativity of a child. This isn't just a toy truck, though - it comes packed with a gold chrome edition of the famed "Hot Wheels High School" bus, and the truck itself is sized right to haul crayons. But that's not all...
As part of my gig as a Step2 Brand Ambassador, I often have the honor of getting some of you hooked-up with some cool toys for your little ones. Usually, it's one or two readers at a time, but this week I've got something extra-special: Step2 has teamed up with Magnolia Pictures to celebrate the release of their new film, THE HERO OF COLOR CITY by giving away TEN (10!) prize packs (there's 10 Brand Ambassadors, ya dig?), each consisting of a Studio Art Desk™, Up & Down Roller Coaster, and a themed-pack of Cra-Z-Art crayons. THE HERO OF COLOR CITY is in Theaters, On Demand and on iTunes October 3rd. Get details and enter below!
Not long ago, I walked into Walmart and found my attention immediately grabbed by a colorful display that reached out to me and said, "Come here, Dear Consumer! Come, Rock Father! Explore my explosion of color!" Now, it didn't actually have a voice, but I'm anthropomorphizing it anyway, if only because it got me into trouble when I came home. This display, prominently-featured at the front of the Back-to-School department, was touting a new line of "Colors for Every Occasion" by CRAYOLA, and damn if I didn't let the "Collect Them All! (While Supplies Last)" tagline grab the crayon-loving kid in me. But it's for my children.
The folks at CRAYOLA have been busy plotting their 110th Birthday Celebration, and tonight they hit The Rock Father with some details on how YOU can be a part of it. Crews have been hard at work on transforming the former Crayola factory in Easton, PA into an all-new CRAYOLA EXPERIENCE - "the world's only interactive Crayola family attraction." While the construction workers have had some adventures of their own (unearthing bones and a coin dated 1788), the Original 8 Crayola Crayons are on a Birthday Adventure that will end with one lucky family winning a trip to the Grand Opening on May 24, 2013.
