Disney Junior's Doc McStuffins is one of the most important children's series of all-time, and it's certainly been a very special one here at our house. Now comes news that the long-awaited Season Five will premiere FRIDAY, OCT. 26 (11:00-11:30 a.m. EDT/PDT), on Disney Channel and the DisneyNOW app. Since 2012, the series, which tells the story of a young girl who aspires to be a doctor like her mom and communicates with and heals toys, has been celebrated by parents, educators and health-care professionals around the world for having a lasting impact on how children see themselves and their future. As a part of season five, The Doc McStuffins Christmas Special will debut this December on Disney Junior as part of Disney|ABC Television's annual "25 Days of Christmas" programming event. The special will also air on Disney Channel, ABC and Freeform throughout the holiday season.

Each Fall, I always look forward to new Halloween episodes from some of our favorite shows, and this year there's quite a few on deck. One that's already out there in the rotation is a dual-dose of Halloween fun from Disney Junior's Muppet Babies. Originally airing on October 5, 2018 and now in the mix during the daily dose of Muppet Babies (check your local listings),  Happy Hallowocka!/The Teeth Chattering Tale of the Haunted Pancakes includes two 11-minute tales inside one half-hour episode. And, there's a "Super Spooky Halloween" music video as well! Check it out...

When I paid a visit to the Just Play showroom at the 115th North American Toy Fair back in February, one of the most exciting offerings was the expansion of their PJ Masks collection. Over the past few years, eOne's animated superhero adventure series has been a big hit on Disney Junior, and likewise the toys have done well for Just Play. The new season has brought forth some new adventures, new villains - and an all-new location: space. In fact, from the moment the first teaser arrived, our youngest daughter was asking when "the PJ Masks spaceship" would be a toy. Featured in my 2018 Holiday Wish Guide, the PJ Masks Super Moon Adventure HQ Rocket answers the call, setting kids up for an out-of-this-world adventure packed with fun features.

After making their debut in one short sequence from 1984's The Muppets Take Manhattan, the Muppet Babies made the jump to television for a long-running animated series that ran until 1991. It's been nearly three decades since the original series came to the end of its run, and now it's time for a long-overdue reboot for a whole new generation. Disney's MUPPET BABIES launches as an all-new original series premiering FRIDAY, MARCH 23 with two back-to-back episodes on Disney Channel (10:00 a.m. EDT) and in the DisneyNOW app. Today, The Rock Father™ and Disney Junior  have teamed-up to present the EXCLUSIVE premiere of Muppet Babies: Show & Tell - a new short-form series that young audiences can enjoy starting March 2nd. In these shorts, kids can get to know the Muppet Babies and their environment, starting with a first-look at the playroom and backyard through the eyes of Kermit the Frog. How connected is the new series to the classic Muppet tales that that kids like me grew up with in the 70s and 80s? There's a definite connection... you might even say that there's a "Rainbow Connection." Check out Kermit's Show & Tell...

The Rocketeer is being reimagined. Perhaps best-known from the 1991 film based on the comic series by Dave Stevens, the story is being given new life as Disney Junior has announced the start of production on a new animated adventure series for young kids and their families slated to debut in 2019. The Rocketeer will follow Kit, a young girl who receives a surprise package on her birthday revealing she's next in line to become the Rocketeer, a legendary superhero who has the ability to fly with the help of a rocket-powered jet pack. Armed with her cool new gear and secret identity, Kit is ready to take flight and save the day with her gadget-minded best friend, Tesh, and airplane mechanic uncle, Ambrose, who join her on her epic adventures.
