Is Scrooge McDuck a big EDM fan? While I can't say (though I have taken a dive into his famed money pit), the DuckTales have entered a whole new world with the release of a brand-new collaboration between Marshmello and Disney. The DJ/Producer's recent video for "Fly" already racked up more than 48 million views on YouTube, and now there's a new version featuring the DuckTales crew. A mix of animation and live-action, the music video launches Scrooge, his nephew Donald, great-nephews Huey, Dewey and Louie and their friend Webby into a musical outer space adventure. When their spaceship unexpectedly crashes, they encounter an alien DJ on a remote Marshmello planet. The video just made its premiere during a screening of Disney·Pixar's The Incredibles leading into the "2018 Radio Disney Music Awards" (RDMA) (8:00-10:00 p.m. EDT/PDT), on Disney Channel. See Marshmello x DuckTales - "FLY" below!
Whenever I visit Disneyland or Walt Disney World, a visit to The Haunted Mansion is an absolute must. I love the place, though The Rock Daughters got a little freaked out when we took them to Disney World last year (they haven't paid a visit to California just yet). That said, it's pretty cool that The Haunted Mansion has made its way to Disney XD this month, hitting the airwaves for a series of entertaining stop-motion animated on-air promos that find Disney characters from "DuckTales," "Big Hero 6 The Series" and "Star vs. The Forces of Evil" on their own adventure hosted by Haunted Mansion ghosts. The promos, a collaboration between Walt Disney Imagineering, Stoopid Buddy Stoodios and Disney XD are airing now through Halloween, with more to be found online.

There's a moment in the premiere episode of Disney XD's DuckTales in which Donald rolls up to the estate of Scrooge McDuck, his nephews along for the ride. From the back seat, Huey, Dewey and Louie can't believe where they're at - and have seemingly never met their great-uncle. In fact, to them, Scrooge seems to be a legend - a mythical figure whose status is not unlike that of Luke Skywalker in Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Just as Rey learned from Han Solo that the stories were true - "all of them," the boys soon realize that when it comes to Scrooge, the stories were also true - most of them. After taking a real-life leap into Scrooge's famed "money bin" at this summer's D23 Expo, I took an early look at the new series alongside Executive Producer Matt Youngberg and Co-Producer/Story Editor Francisco Angones. The sneak-preview prompted a few questions...
It's sometimes a strange thing how certain things can cause an association with others, especially when nostalgia comes into play. When DuckTales was in its original heyday, it overlapped with a dark time in my own childhood - but coming home from school and watching DuckTales is something that I remember fondly. The globetrotting adventures of Scrooge McDuck and his great-nephews were epic, and the "magic of Disney" could always be felt throughout. As a kid, I shared a desire with many to one day jump into Scrooge McDuck's money bin - something that logic would say was impossible - something only real in a hand-drawn cartoon world. Little did I know that some three decades later, DuckTales would return (premiering August 12 on Disney XD), and that Scrooge McDuck's money bin would be realized in the human world...
The premiere of Disney XD's reimagining of DuckTales is fast-approaching, and that's fueling nostalgia for the original series as well. Just before the recent D23 Expo kicked-off in Anaheim, California, the folks at Funko (who had a sizable presence at the event) revealed their first series of DuckTales Pop! Vinyl figures. Coming this fall, and available for pre-order via my allies at Entertainment Earth, the first series includes Scrooge McDuck, Huey, Dewey, Louie and Webby. There's even a GameStop Exclusive Magica De Spell. Check them all out below!

This week is a unique one in that I'm gearing up for a full seven days of travel - the longest stretch that I've ever been away from home since becoming "The Rock Father." That means it's the longest I've been away from my wife and our girls, but it will be worth it since what I'm doing is part of the greater good - a mix of work and play that directly relates to having fun as a family, and spreading that goodness throughout the virtual pages of The Rock Father™ Magazine. While the entire week will be massive, the end will be epic as I wrap one gig in New York City, then head straight to Los Angeles to meet up with the Disney crew for the D23 Expo and Disneyland Summer of Heroes. One big focus for me will be the launch of Disney XD's DuckTales, but my group will also be taking part in activities and events from Disney, Marvel, Lucasfilm, ABC Network and more, and I'll be bringing you the latest news and features direct from the show floor of "The Ultimate Disney Fan Event" - July 13-16, 2017!
