In the trailer for Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Poe Dameron mentions that The Resistance has "a spark that will light the fire that will burn The First Order down." But thematically, what if the players on the other side feel the same way? Back it up around 30 years, and you're in the timeline just following the events of 1983's Return of the Jedi, and that's right where EA's Star Wars: Battlefront II lies. To avenge the death of The Emperor, they follow his instructions to "ignite the inferno" - making reference to The Inferno Squad, in an effort to burn The Rebellion down. See the new single-player trailer for the game below, and look for it on November 14, 2017. Exclusive pre-order deals available via my affiliate, GameStop.

After some early details leaked a few days ago, those attending EA has officially dropped the curtain on Star Wars Battlefront II, making the reveal at Star Wars Celebration Orlando. Personally, I just started playing the first Battlefront last month (late to the Xbox One party), but after seeing what's coming down the road, I can't wait to get my hands on Battlefront II. Not only does the game pack a ton of action from "all eras of Star Wars," but there's a new story to be told, with a new type of trooper at the center of it - the Inferno Squadron Pilot. Hasbro will release a Star Wars The Black Series Inferno Squadron Pilot as a Gamestop Exclusive along with the release of the game for Xbox One and Playstation 4. See details on everything below!

I clearly need two things: Time, and an Xbox One. As my lonely 360 longs for more playtime, I've been longing to get into some new STAR WARS games, something I've enjoyed on occasion from THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK on the Atari 2600 (80s), to the excellent SUPER STAR WARS series on SNES (90s) and well-through the prequel eras of Podracing, the first BATTLEFRONT and most recently, Disney Infinity. While I've not played EA's current BATTLEFRONT, it's on my "to-do" list, especially after seeing where STAR WARS games will be heading over the next few years. From more add-on DLC for BATTLEFRONT including DEATH STAR and BESPIN packs, to different types of gameplay on multiple platforms spanning multiple eras of STAR WARS storytelling, EA and partners including DICE, BioWare, Motive, Visceral Games, Capital Games and Respawn Entertainment are prepping many new adventures in a galaxy far, far away. Check out the E3 reveal video below...

This is one of those times where I get tempted by The Dark Side of The Force. A complete Xbox loyalist, I've held back on getting an Xbox One (but I almost need to at this point), yet here comes this beautiful beast - The PlayStation 4 Limited Edition STAR WARS Battlefront 500GB Bundle. Available on November 17th and up for pre-order now via GameStop, Amazon and Best Buy, it features a fully customized PlayStation 4 and DualShock 4 wireless controller inspired by Darth Vader, STAR WARS Battlefront, and a voucher containing four Star Wars Classics - Super Star Wars, Star Wars: Racer Revenge, Jedi Starfighter and Star Wars Bounty Hunter.

It has been a really long time since I've had the chance to get into a STAR WARS video game. There were some really good ones along the way, but I sort of moved away from it. That said, I've been hoping for a new chance to become immersed in a galaxy far, far away - and 2015's STAR WARS: BATTLEFRONT just might be the game. At the in-progress E3 event, Electronic Arts unleashed the first official trailer for the game (which includes an introduction to the development team). See that trailer, along with the teaser that first appeared at last year's E3 below...

Back in March, DreamWorks released NEED FOR SPEED, their big-screen adaptation of the popular video game series from Electronic Arts. I was able to catch an advance screening on my trip to Los Angeles earlier in the year, and eventually threw down some virtual ink about the film here on THE ROCK FATHER. While I was a little mixed on the film as a whole, it was fun, and I called it "exhilarating, yet at times, unsettling." In the few months since, I'd wanted to see it again, if only to re-live the impressive stunt work... and on August 5, I'll get that chance when NEED FOR SPEED arrives on Blu-ray Combo Pack, Digital HD, DVD and On-Demand. I've got the specs on the home release below, but did you know that Mattel has also released some Hot Wheels based on cars featured in the NEED FOR SPEED film? Read on, friends...
