FRIENDS is going through a Renaissance, it would seem. 11 years after "The Last One" aired on NBC, and 21 years after "The Pilot," the folks at Funko have announced a series of Pop! Vinyls that will bring the six main characters of the show into loveable 3¾" vinyl figure form. While you may have to build your own "Central Perk" or "Apartment" playset, you can almost be certain that someone will reimagine THE REMBRANDTS' "I'll Be There for You" music video or the show's opening titles with Pop! Vinyls standing in. My friends at Entertainment Earth have the full set up for pre-order right now, with expected delivery taking place in February of 2016 - more than enough time to watch the series again on Netflix.

With MARVEL's ANT-MAN in theaters now, your favorite retailers are stocking up on some pretty cool merch featuring a superhero that until now, few were actually familiar with. Being the first true "family" film in the MARVEL Cinematic Universe, there's a lot of play value (and potential for learning) here. As with most summer movies (and superhero movies in general), the amount of items hitting the streets for ANT-MAN is massive, but I'm presenting a hand-picked collection of 15 of the coolest toys - a rundown offered up in no particular order.

"It's just the funniest thing. I think people think when you do movies this, they just throw a bunch of action figures your way," explains actor Daniel Henney with a smile. Casually chatting at the W Hotel in Los Angeles, Henney is with fellow actor Ryan Potter doing press for this week's in-home release of the Academy Award-winning BIG HERO 6 on Blu-ray and DVD. Funny enough, we're talking about action figures... while I sit with a Funko Pop! Vinyl Baymax peeking out of my North Face Surge Backpack - though neither Henney, nor Potter seems to notice as the voice of BH6's Tadashi continues his tale...

One of my favorite toy lines of the past year is one that falls into that "for the adult collector" category - ReAction Figures by Funko. First launched with a series based on a scrapped Kenner ALIENS line from the 80s, these figures take pop culture licenses from years past, and give them the action figures that they would have had should they had toys back in the days when the original, 5POA (five points of articulation) Vintage STAR WARS figures reigned supreme. Following figures from BACK TO THE FUTURE, THE GOONIES, PREDATOR and TERMINATOR, the folks at Funko are rolling out a series of six characters based on John Carpenter's 1986 classic, BIG TROUBLE IN LITTLE CHINA. This wave includes Jack Burton (Kurt Russell), Gracie Law (Kim Cattrall), and David Lo Pan (James Hong) alongside Thunder, Rain and Lightning. Check 'em out below...

The headline to this post is completely misleading. Yes, the much-touted remake of the EVIL DEAD has hit theaters, but no - there is no kids' version on the way. But characters from the third installment of the original trilogy (ARMY OF DARKNESS) are getting a pretty cute makeover when they become a part of Funko Toys' ever-growing line of Pop! Vinyl Figures later this year. Bruce Campbell will be there as ASH, and you might find a DEADITE or two. But they won't be alone come September...
