When I stopped into the Hasbro Party at Chicago's Hard Rock Cafe this past July, one of the special guests was a purple monkey named Cheeky. You see, he's one of the newest additions to the growing ELEFUN AND FRIENDS line, and the subject of two new games being released in-time for Fall: CHEEKY'S BARREL BURST (pre-order here) and CHASIN' CHEEKY (out now). As luck would have it, the folks at Hasbro Games had already sent the latter to Rock Father HQ for evaluation in The Rock Father's State-of-the-Art Toy Testing Facility (our house).
Preschoolers love games - a fact I know well with one active preschooler here at Rock Father HQ. Even better? When those games get the little ones movin', and the folks at Hasbro Gaming have a new entry to their popular Elefun and Friends line that will do just that. His name is CHASIN' CHEEKY, and Hasbro and The Rock Father are giving readers a chance to score one for their own playtime adventures!
A few weeks back, the folks at Hasbro asked if we'd like to check out some new offerings from their ANGRY BIRDS STAR WARS line here in the state-of-the-art Toy Testing Facility at Rock Father HQ. Being quite the STAR WARS fan, there was no way to refuse the request of The Empire. A few days later, an Imperial Courier arrived at HQ in a large, brown speeder. His package? A box loaded with fresh toys and games to check out.
I am a STAR WARS aficionado. Those that are regular readers of The Rock Father know this. I've been known to "teach The Force"; I once worked on a film called "5-25-77"; I recorded a viral song called "Darth Vader is a Real Cool Guy!" that appeared on TheForce.net over a decade ago; I once had such a large STAR WARS toy collection that it required it's own room (since sold); and I was one of 19 Dad Bloggers that took park in "The Definitive White Paper on When to Expose Your Children to STAR WARS." Yes, The Force is strong with this one, so when the folks at Hasbro asked me if I'd like to help distribute some new toys and games from their ANGRY BIRDS STAR WARS line in honor of STAR WARS DAY (May the 4th), there was no way to resist.
Until this month, I'd never owned a JENGA game. It's a classic that I've played in the past, but for some reason I just never had one to call my own. Well, the good folks over at Hasbro Games filled the void when they sent over their new version, JENGA BOOM. The "explosive" package arrived here at Rock Father HQ, immediately piquing the interest of Addie, who was curious why the box had a string on it. That "string," is actually a fuse, as the box is made to resemble four massive sticks of dynamite, bound together as a bomb. Most awesome disclaimer ever? "ACTUAL PRODUCT DOES NOT EXPLODE."
The folks over at Hasbro Games have been championing quality time with families for ages through their Hasbro Game Night initiative, and that's something that The Rock Father can certainly get behind. Each month, they roll out a few new titles to highlight, and on occasion I even get to share some of them right here on the site. This is one of those occasions, and Hasbro Games and The Rock Father are giving you a chance to win JENGA BOOM!
