Ladies and Gentlemen, it's CALL OF DUTY season. While I don't consider myself much of a gamer these days (casual player, due to time constraints), the one time of the year that I religiously stock-up the office fridge with Mountain Dew Game Fuel and fire-up the Xbox 360 on a heavier-than-average basis is when a new CALL OF DUTY title is released. For 2015, Treyarch and Activision have brought forth CALL OF DUTY: BLACK OPS III, and it's officially a reason for me to upgrade to the current-generation Xbox One, or a fine title for Playstation 4 users - reason being, the game was developed for the newer systems, so PS3 or Xbox 360 users are only offered a feature-limited version of the game, one devoid of campaign mode. For that reason, THE ROCK FATHER Magazine is serving-up a Holiday Wish Guide Giveaway that will offer readers a shot at winning CALL OF DUTY: BLACK OPS III in their choice of Xbox One or Playstation 4 editions only, so that players will get the full experience this holiday season! Ready to "Seize Glory?"

With all the coverage I give to STAR WARS, sometimes things still just sort of pop-up here and there, and that's just what's happened tonight. The 1980 STAR WARS Christmas Album (no connection to the infamous STAR WARS Holiday Special) has been a rarity in recent years, but one that some folks like myself have acquired in one form or another due to occasional reissues. Now comes word that a French company called L.M.L.R. has prepped one of their "Vinyl Replica" editions of this bizarre record - a CD-sized true replica of the original vinyl CHRISTMAS IN THE STARS album, with everything scaled-down. Set for release on November 27th as an Amazon Exclusive, the CD appears to be a fully-grooved red vinyl.

With Blue Sky Studios and 20th Century Fox's THE PEANUTS MOVIE currently in theaters and delighting audiences (read my review), generations new and old are thinking about Charlie Brown and the PEANUTS Gang. The PEANUTS are classic, and very soon many will agree that "Christmastime is Here" (well, almost). In getting into the spirit of the season, Concord Music Group and THE ROCK FATHER Magazine are presenting a Holiday Wish Guide Giveaway for the A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS 50th Anniversary GIft Pack. Available as a Walmart Exclusive this holiday season, this fantastic collection features the timeless music of The Vince Guaraldi Trio, with the A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS CD (with its original 1965 tracklist and cover art) and the PEANUTS PORTRAITS CD packaged alongside 4 double-sided postcards featuring PEANUTS characters, and reproduction of the 1965 children’s book A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS! Check out some music, and enter for your chance to win below!

INSIDE OUT
This summer, Disney•Pixar's INSIDE OUT did exactly what so many films in that library tend to do - it inspired bigger discussions about important things, like emotions. As grownups, we tend to see things differently than our little ones, and that's a big part of INSIDE OUT. In many ways, the film is even more emotionally-moving for adults than kids - but the fact that kids are so into the colorful adventures of Joy, Anger, Sadness, Disgust and Fear makes it easier to open some doors that could easily remain closed. Having seen the film at the Drive-in this summer, the girls were waiting for it to come home, and a trip to Walmart yielded plenty of INSIDE OUT for all (available now on Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD) along with some new additions to our collection of INSIDE OUT toys by TOMY.  We were specifically on a mission to locate Riley's imaginary friend, Bing Bong.

This Holiday Wish Guide entry is sponsored by Hasbro as part of an Influencer Activation for Influence Central. THE ROCK FATHER received a complimentary PIE FACE for this feature.

When it comes to comedy, the gold standard just might be the ol' pie in the face. In fact, history pegs the 1909 Essanay Studios silent comedy MR. FLIP for being the first instance of the pie in the face gag - an act that would later be known as "pieing." Over a century later, there's still some fun to be had with a good gob of whipped-cream in the face, and the folks at Hasbro Games are bringing that home for the holidays with PIE FACE - a new game with a simple concept that could bring an element of silly sweet fun to family gatherings and game night.

Step2 Brand AmbassadorOn my first visit to The Step2 Company's Ohio headquarters last year, there was a rather large mockup in the R&D department that immediately drew some attention from the entire group of Brand Ambassadors that I was there as a part of. While Step2 has long-been known for making some fantastic playhouses, we'd never seen one quite like the prototype we were looking at - something that the designers had been wanting to do for ages: one that was two stories. Fast-forward to the Fall of 2015 and The Step2 2-Story Playhouse & Slide is a reality, available exclusively at Toys "R" Us, and a featured pick in my 2015 Holiday Wish Guide.
