Star Wars Rebels is truly some fantastic storytelling, and a series that our whole family enjoys watching together each week. That said, I was excited when the news hit my inbox that production is underway on the fourth season of the acclaimed animated series from Lucasfilm. The fourth season is scheduled to premiere on Disney XD later this year continuing the thrilling and inspiring galactic adventures of the Ghost crew.
We've long-expected that Gareth Edwards' Rogue One: A Star Wars Story would be coming home in April, but this week that's been made official. Announced yesterday on The Star Wars Show and StarWars.com, Rogue One will be coming home on Digital HD on March 24th and Blu-ray on April 4th. This news comes on the heels of the start of production announcement of the untitled Han Solo Star Wars Story. Check out the new trailer and specs below!
A bunch of people (myself included) might've jumped the gun when reporting that the currently-untitled Han Solo Star Wars Story began filming last month. In reality, it was probably some second unit stuff, as word came down today that principal photography on the film officially began yesterday at Pinewood Studios, London. Set for release on May 25, 2018 (exactly 41 years after the 1977's Star Wars: A New Hope), the new film will explore the early adventures of Han Solo and Chewbacca, including "encounters with that other card-playing rogue from a galaxy far, far away, Lando Calrissian."
If you wanted some good news to kick-off the week, I'm here to give you some. After months of speculation (Forces of Destiny was kicked around the rumor mill quite a bit), Rian Johnson's forthcoming Star Wars: Episode VIII has its official title -- STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI. Along with the announcement comes the teaser poster and title treatment, and it's interesting to note the red-and-black color scheme that recalls 1983's Return of the Jedi. Take a look...
As we enter 2017, we're now less than five months away from the 40th Anniversary of George Lucas' 1977 Star Wars: A New Hope. One of the looming, and most often-asked questions here at Rock Father HQ pertains to an area of my specialty, and that's toys. "What new toys are on the way for Star Wars' 40th Anniversary?" Quite simply, I don't know... yet - but I do have some ideas for how it'll all go down.
