The countdown is on! Lalaloopsy's World's Largest PJ Party will be taking place on Saturday, November 15th from 7-10pm ET as an attempt will be made to break the Guinness World Record for "Most Slumber Party Participants in Multiple Locations" - a record that currently stands at 34,000. With home base set for the Nickelodeon Suites Resort in Orlando, kids around the world can take part (with grownup assistance) by joining the fun with hashtag #LalaPJParty on Twitter and Facebook, where the Lala crew will be live tweeting and posting from the event. We'll be taking part from here at Rock Father HQ, but in the meantime - I'm launching another Holiday Wish Guide Giveaway, partnered with my friends at MGA Entertainment to give all of you a shot at winning one of 2014's most-wished-for gifts, the LALALOOPSY BAKING OVEN!
Last year, when we took the girls to visit Santa Claus at Macy's on State Street in Chicago, there were only two things that Addie asked Santa for, the first of which was a MOOSHKA Doll (which I wrote about here). At the time, Santa wasn't very familiar with Mooshka, but he must've gotten acquainted, because sometime during the night between December 24-25, a Mooshka appeared under our Christmas tree. For those unfamiliar, a Mooshka is a very traditional-style cloth doll that is irresistible to little ones, the story being that a group of paper doll friends once held hands and through the power of friendship "sprung to life" as huggable girls called Mooshka. For Holiday 2014, the Mooshka girls are back, with new friends including the Goodnight Starlight edition, one of which (Dasha) arrived here for review this Fall courtesy of MGA Entertainment. With a light-up belly and musical, "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star" action, Dasha quickly became a much-loved addition to my girls' Mooshka family, securing a spot in my 2014 Holiday Wish Guide.
With two girls in the house, I see a lot of dolls come through here at Rock Father HQ - a mix of those we purchase, receive as gifts or are sent for testing. From the MOXIE GIRLZ line comes one of this year's most unique and charming offerings - the Moxie Girlz Ice Cream Bike with Sophina. The well-crafted and uniquely functional toy brings a different kind of vehicle into the doll aisle - one that works as-advertised, and surprisingly requires no batteries! With her articulated legs, knees and ankles, Sophina is able to "pedal" the bike as the little ones push it, while the wheels of the ice cream cart turn a genuine music box for that authentic sound and feel.
October has been Lalaloopsified - not just here at Rock Father HQ, but everywhere as the Lalaloopsy friends have been popping up everywhere from Nick Jr. to Netflix, in the toy aisles and beyond. In fact, Lalaloopsy is now the #1 collector brand for girls ages 2-11, and they recently announced that on November 15th they'll be attempting to break the Guinness World Record for The World's Largest Pajama Party in multiple locations (currently set at 34,000) and you can take part. My girls have caught the Lalaloopsy bug - recently getting decked-out in costumes based on Crumbs Sugar Cookie and Mittens Fluff N' Stuff from my friends at BuyCostumes (I'm one of their #OrangeTuesday Amassadors)... and they might have pulled me in, too. One of their most played-with toys these days is the Lalaloopsy Babies Diaper Surprise Peanut Big Top... yes, the one that "Magically Poops" Charms. Want to win a Diaper Surprise Baby for your own little one(s)? Read on, friends, because MGA Entertainment and THE ROCK FATHER have your chance!
Netflix is getting Lalaloopsified. On October 10, the streaming service will premiere LALALOOPSY GIRLS: WELCOME TO L.A.L.A. PREP, the recent Nickelodeon hit mini-movie that scored big among kids ages 2-11. Based on the new toy line, Lalaloopsy Girls features some fan-favorite Lala characters "all grown up." This new Lalaloopsy Girls special joins other Lalaloopsy titles that are available for viewing on Netflix right now.
