With the return of GHOSTBUSTERS this year (see: yesterday's entry into 31 Days of Halloween), it's not surprising that some similarly-inspired entertainment has come forth, just as it did in the era of the classic Ghostbusters. From NCircle Entertainment comes DINO DAN: TREK'S ADVENTURES - DINOBUSTERS, a new DVD featuring a dinosaur-themed parody of the classic Ghostbusters action. Surprisingly, there's no trailer available, but you can see the full cover art below...

Like it or not, summer is fast coming to a conclusion and the kids will be back-to-school before we know it. After doing our annual back-to-school shopping this past weekend, little Finley picked out a PEPPA PIG backpack (nice and sparkly, too), which was pretty appropriate given not only her love for the lovable little pig and her family, but also since we just had a little "Peppa Packs for School" activity here at Rock Father HQ. While PEPPA PIG: SUNNY VACATION just came out on DVD (which you still have a chance to win here through 8/17/16), my friends at 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment and the FHE Insiders Crew have put together a collection of PEPPA PIG Free Printables for Back-to-School. We've got coloring sheets, reading activities, connect the dots and more - and there's even bookmarks and the ever-popular lunchbox notes for you to use! Get 'em all below along with Five Back-to-School Tips from PEPPA PIG!

When my wife and I became parents for the first time back in 2009, I had no idea that the TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES would eventually be back in our home, a regular fixture of viewing and play reborn for a new generation. While I enjoyed the Turtles in their first animated series and the live-action films of the late 80s/early 90s, our girls are enamored with all-things TMNT at this point, from the Nickelodeon Cartoon, to the long-running Playmates Toys and beyond. One big surprise was the arrival of a Half-Shell Heroes special last Fall, a stand-alone hour-long event that brought the younger-skewing Half-Shell Heroes toys into animated form for an adventure in the age of the dinosaurs. Our oldest daughter, Addie, LOVED it - asking for it repeatedly on-demand, and prompting me to question if it was a backdoor pilot for another new series (fingers-crossed). Now, just in-time for Easter, TEENAGE MUTANT NINJA TURTLES Half-Shell Heroes: BLAST TO THE PAST is coming to DVD, and THE ROCK FATHER Magazine has your chance to win the movie, along with Playmates' Leo & Triceratops action figures!

PEPPA PIG is enjoying a Renaissance of sorts, especially here in the United States, where it's seen a massive resurgence over the past two years since being distributed by eOne. Airing regularly on Nick Jr., the Peppa Pig light went off for my girls at some point in the last year, and now the lovable pig and her friends are in regular rotation for viewing and play (Jazwares makes some cool toys). On Sunday, March 6, at 6 p.m. ET, Nick Jr. will host the U.S. premiere of a very special “peppasode," THE GOLDEN BOOTS. In celebration of Spring, eOne and THE ROCK FATHER Magazine are giving you a chance to win PEPPA PIG: THE GOLDEN BOOTS on DVD (out March 8), along with a look at some fun Peppa activies...

Toy FairUPDATE: Check THIS out! The PAW Patrol Lookout Climber!

Spin Master has really done a fantastic job with their PAW Patrol line, building out a world around the hit Nick Jr. series, and releasing some really great toys to support it. Undoubtedly one of the big favorites here at Rock Father HQ, the PAW Patrol toys are not just appreciated by The Rock Daughters, but by yours truly as well. They're well-made, fun, and there's just a spirit of adventure built into them. With the recent AIR RESCUE episode helping to launch a small sub-line this past month (Finley keeps asking for the Air Patroller), Spin Master entered the North American International Toy Fair armed with a full portfolio of new toys - figures, vehicles and playsets - along with some new offerings that support some different play patterns. What adventures lie ahead in 2016? PAW Patrol is going Medieval at some point, but they're also having a Jungle Adventure, with a new pup named Tracker joining the crew, along with his human friend, Carlos. Let's take a peek...

I hadn't really paid much attention to Mutt & Stuff until recently, when I'd left Nick on, and when I came back into the room, little Finley casually informed me that she was "just watching Mutt & Stuff." Truth be told, I was always a little weirded-out by the Sid and Marty Krofft stuff back in the day - most of which was already in re-runs by the time I saw it in the early 80s. But, their characters are 100% cult-classic, and now some of the most beloved H.R. Pufnstuf characters are returning to kids TV for the first time in over 45 years, and it's all happening in a special episode of Mutt & Stuff that's quite simply titled, “H.R. Pufnstuf Visits Mutt & Stuff.”  H.R. Pufnstuf, Cling and Clang, Freddy the Flute and the Rescue Racer will all be present when the new episode premieres, Monday, Feb. 15, at 10 a.m. (ET/PT) on Nickelodeon
