It won't be released until March 26, but a copy of the new album from Grammy-Nominated Kindie Rockers, MILKSHAKE arrived here at Rock Father HQ this weekend. I really love the cover art of GOT A MINUTE?, the fifth album from the Milkshake crew. In fact, while the cover definitely resembles the modern family (scroll down to see it), the little girl really reminds me of my oldest daughter, Addie. There's even a fold-out poster included that features the same girl driving a little car while surrounded by different adventures. Talk about fitting.
The colorful characters from the Nick Jr. hit YO GABBA GABBA! will be hitting the road once more, as they've just announced a 50 City Tour for 2013. Yo Gabba Gabba! LIVE! Get The Sillies Out! kicked-off it's theatrical run on November 23 at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles, and will perform a few dates in New York City prior to hitting the road in January for a full-blown Nationwide trek. The 2013 Yo Gabba Gabba! LIVE! tour is in support of their first national beverage launch, a new line of toys, a new line of kids sportswear and a DVD/CD collectors edition. Dates and trailer below...
Somehow the announcement for this one slid under the radar here at Rock Father HQ, but YO GABBA GABBA! has a new compilation in-stores this week. MUSIC IS AWESOME: VOLUME 4 features 25-tracks that find the stars of the Nick Jr. hit show - DJ Lance Rock, Muno, Plex, Foofa, Toodee, and Brobee - joined by the likes of THE ROOTS, ROCKET FROM THE CRYPT, GEORGE CLINTON, THE AQUABATS!, CUT COPY, METRIC, and more. Check out the full tracklisting below, or just head over to iTunes to grab a copy right now.
Sure, they might've broken up in 2005, but that hardly stopped ROCKET FROM THE CRYPT from reuniting last Fall for a one-off performance geared toward the kindie set. The performance was for YO GABBA GABBA!, and tonight it's hit the web via Volcom as part of their partnership with the Nick Jr. hit on a line of clothing and accessories. Watch the video for "He's a Chef" below, then hit Volcom Retailers on September 21st to snag a limited-edition 7" copy of the song, which also features Biz Markie and FLAMING LIPS' Wayne Coyne rockin' the B-side.
