GameStop, Inc.This Holiday Wish Guide™ special feature is brought to you by Nintendo in collaboration with The Rock Father™...

Last month, The Rock Daughters™ and I kicked-off the holiday season with our second visit to Nintendo of America HQ in Redmond, Washington. There, inside a notoriously-secretive complex outside of Seattle, the girls and I went hands-on with some of 2017's hottest games and gifts. It's no secret that we're big fans of Nintendo here at Rock Father HQ, a love that dates back to the original Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) and it's successor, the Super NES (SNES), which were both Christmas gifts. Funny enough, twenty years ago, in 1997, my then-future wife and I both presented each other with wrapped Nintendo 64 (N64) systems under the tree. The GameCube followed, and now we're parents in 2017, and our house has a Nintendo Switch and a pair of the "New" 2DS XL systems, and with that I've curated a collection of "Rock Father Picks" for the Nintendo fan in your life - from budding gamers to experienced players! Take a look...

Just in-time for the official start of the Holiday rush ahead of Black Friday, the 2015 Nintendo Holiday Experience is coming to 16 Malls across the country, including one of our Chicagoland favorites - Simon's Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg, Illinois. The Nintendo crew will be bringing photo ops, costumed characters (on select dates), and the opportunity for families to get a hands-on preview of some of this season's hottest games for the Wii U and 3DS. Catch the tour from November 23 - December 20, 2015.

With just a few weeks left until Christmas, the window of time to search for that perfect gift is getting smaller and smaller. For those that have a gamer to buy for, there's some great options that I've featured here on the site over the past year - big hits like Disney Infinity 2.0 and CALL OF DUTY: ADVANCED WARFARE. But those are just the tip of the iceberg, and when it comes to gaming, your local GameStop store has a ton of great deals and new releases for every member of the family, from "big" gifts like a new XBOX One or Playstation 4, to stocking stuffers like the latest figures from Skylanders Trap Team. Now, GameStop and THE ROCK FATHER have teamed-up to highlight some great picks from the GameStop Holiday Hub in this Gaming Special Edition entry into my 2014 Holiday Wish Guide!

Last week, in the midst of all the Toy Fair news out of New York came an announcement from Activision that sorta flew under the radar for a lot of people... myself included. Set for release on June 10, 2014 is TRANSFORMERS: RISE OF THE DARK SPARK, a new video game for XBOX ONE, Playstation 4, XBOX 360, PS3, Nintendo 3DS and WiiU that is intended to serve as a follow-up to the upcoming TRANSFORMERS: AGE OF EXTINCTION film (out June 27 via Paramount Pictures) and Activision's previous TRANSFORMERS: WAR FORCYBERTRON and TRANSFORMERS: FALL OF CYBERTRON games. Take a look at the trailer below...

On November 5, the latest game in the popular MOSHI MONSTERS series will hit the streets as Moshi Monsters: Katsuma Unleashed is released for Nintendo DS and Nintendo 3DS systems.
