I've been playing Zen Studios' Pinball FX3 for about a year now, and with each new table pack the fun just expands. Of all the pinball video games that I've played, Pinball FX3 is the one that most captures the arcade experience, and they've also expanded upon that with some very cool licensed tables. Star Wars has been a big brand, with sets based on The Force Awakens, The Last Jedi, Rogue One and Star Wars Rebels in the mix and now Solo: A Star Wars Story is in on the action as well! Ahead of the film's in-home release this month, the Star Wars Pinball - Solo Pack comes to Pinball FX3 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Steam, Windows 10, as well as Zen Pinball and the Star Wars Pinball apps on mobile. This pinball pack contains 3 new digital tables inspired by the film itself and beyond featuring “Star Wars Pinball: Solo”, “Star Wars Pinball: Calrissian Chronicles” and “Star Wars Pinball: Battle of Mimban.” Check out some previews below!
On April 17, Zen Studios' Pinball FX3 takes another trip to a galaxy far, far away with the release of Star Wars Pinball: The Last Jedi Pack. This new DLC brings to all-new tables to the platform, and the first is Ahch-To Island - the secluded hideaway where Luke Skywalker has been living for some years before Rey caught up with him. This week, a new trailer for that table has been released, but also I had a chance to go hands-on thanks to the folks at Zen Studios providing me with an early copy of the game for Xbox One (it's also available for PlayStation 4, Windows 10 and Steam, as well as for Zen Pinball on iOS, Mac and Android.) I fired up my Twitch Stream last night for a first run, and the most fun I had was when R2-D2 helped to activate the multi-ball, leading to a 66,214,354 high score on only my second round. See the new trailer and highlights from my Twitch Stream below!
One of my favorite games from the past year has been Zen Studios' Pinball FX3. I have it for both Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, but it's cross-platform and available for PS4, PC, and even mobile. While it captures the pinball experience perfectly, one big draw is that they have access to some pretty stellar licenses, which means tables based upon some major players in the pop culture landscape. They've done The Walking Dead, Marvel, Universal Studios (ET, JAWS, Back to the Future) along with Jurassic World and a host of Star Wars-based sets. Now the latter is expanding with the announcement of Star Wars Pinball: The Last Jedi - coming to Pinball FX3 on April 17. Check out a trailer below, and if you're on Twitch, be sure to follow The Rock Father™! I've recently started streaming there and one of the games I showcase often is Pinball FX3.
This Summer, Zen Studios will will bring Universal Classics Pinball, to their popular Pinball platforms for console, PC and mobile. Based on three classic films from Amblin Entertainment and Universal Studios, the new collection will feature gameplay inspired byE.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, Jaws, and the Back to the Future trilogy. The Universal Classics Pinball pack will release as a part of the launch of the Pinball FX3 platform on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Steam and Windows 10 (date TBA), while the themed tables will also be available as individual in-app purchases for Zen Pinball on the App Store and Google Play. Check out the gameplay trailer featuring E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial below!
Last week, The Star Wars Show gave the world its first-look at the upcoming 40th Anniversary Star Wars Pinball Machines from Stern Pinball. Today, the folks at Stern (based right here in Illinois!) hit Rock Father HQ with the full details on what they've got coming. Star Wars pinball machines will be available in Pro, Premium and Limited Edition models, each immersing players in a dynamic and challenging Star Wars pinball environment as they battle to restore justice to the Galaxy.
I really dig pinball. It's an itch that I don't often get to scratch, and I figure that's largely due to the lack of proper arcades in 2013. As a kid that grew up in the 1980s, I threw down more than my fair share of quarters in the dimly-lit confines of ALADDIN'S CASTLE. In fact, as an adult, I've always wanted to own a really killer pinball machine (not sure where I'd put one), but maybe I'm overdue. When I woke up this morning, I had no idea that my love of pinball would be refueled - and I certainly had no intention of blogging about it. What happened this afternoon is that while taking the girls to Kristof's Entertainment Center in Round Lake Beach, I accidentally came across the just-released METALLICA Pro Pinball Machine that Stern Pinball put out, and there was no way I could pass up the chance to sacrifice a few bucks to the pinball Gods. Give me Fuel... Give me Fire... Give me that which I desire...
